I didn't get to my aunt's yesterday as she was sick, but to be honest, while I would have loved to see her, I was also glad we didn't have to travel to her house as yesterday was a full day as it was.
After getting to Asda first thing, we were in Sunderland by nine and finished buying the last few presents. By the time we were getting ready to leave the shops were packed, and I was very happy to get out of there knowing apart from the buns and some fresh veg all shopping is now done. Those I'll get from Lidl either tomorrow or Tuesday morning, another time it's very handy to literally live over the road from the place.
Then in the afternoon, we had to go to see James' aunt and uncle to swap gifts for the family. He's such a lovely man but has just had a big operation after they found he had a cancerous tumour in his groin. They removed it all, but he still needs radiotherapy in the new year, and of course, is in a lot of pain due to the op. I could tell he was ready for us to go after an hour so we made our excuses and took his gifts back to my in-laws and brought ours home.
Today I'd planned a house based day to get presents wrapped but James needed to have a quick drive to work to drop off his secret Santa and my MiL had asked if we could get a Magic 8 Ball as my youngest niece wanted one. after checking out a few places where we could have click and collected, I thought, screw that and ordered via Amazon Prime as the thought of hitting the shops again was just, nope. So, after the drive I've been working in the garden as it was sunny, getting some of the old leaves up and just generally tidying up the place.
Then tomorrow it's back to the in-laws to drop off presents for my oldest nephew as it's his last contact session before Christmas. On the night we're off to the pantomime at the theatre, which I'm looking forward to. It's Cinderella and I think it's going to be both frantic, festive and fab.
I've been wanting to write some fills for the bandom and popslash ficathon, but can't see me getting the time to do so until after boxing day now. So, hopefully, late will be okay.
Forgot to say in the good news post, the engineer has also been out about the new stairlift, measured up and so that should be installed in the new year. Plus, they'll be replacing some stair treads that are a bit spongy with is a nice bonus.
To end, some of my favourite MCR photos I've seen in the last day, behind ( here )
