november: do you have any rituals or requirements for getting in the mood for writing?
I guess the main one is, I need to be on my desktop. I've tried writing other ways in the past, on my iPad or on paper, but it just doesn't work for me. To write I need to be at my desk, with my full-size keyboard and access to gdocs.
I also write much better if I'm alone as I'm distracted really easily. Which is why I don't tend to write to music.
So, if I'm planning to write I'll have the radio or tv turned down low, and have a drink at hand and try to pull my writing bubble around me.
Thinking about it, that probably ties into the fact I don't tend to plan stories, I just think of an idea and start writing, so I need that complete focus to turn the story in my head into actual words on the screen.
