I had a nest try to move into the roof behind the fascia/soffit about 10 years ago, conveniently right at head height! I was able to get wasp-killing foam (I don't think it had any snappier name) and sprayed it all over where I could see the gap they were getting in, and it took care of them. IDK if you can still get that sort of virulent biocide, or if your lot may be dug in too deeply for it to be effective, but it might be a route.
(The advantage of the foam is it clings to the surface, rather than getting everywhere as a spray would.)
