(no subject)

I woke up the morning to find that overnight my computer had updated itself which meant a restart. Which meant Word shut down and all of my editing was lost. Why it did that I don't know as I'm sure you need to click to okay an update but no, Silver decided to be independent last night. Guess I'll just have to start again. An addition to that story, reading friendsfriends just now I read someone else's computer did that overnight as an automatic Windows update. I'm not at all pleased that Windows can update when they like.

I need to get Corey's presents wrapped sometime soon too. He breaks up from school tomorrow which means things must be wrapped by then. The problem is finding them from where they've been stashed away. I'm so organised man, I can hardly stand myself *g*

Now I'd better get on with the editing, again. I'll also send out many good vibes and hugs to the flist, so many people need them right now.

That is all. I'm in a weird hugging, clinging-to-good-things-in-my-life-place :-)

OKay, are you running Xp?

Go to start-control panel-then on the new XP panel choose Performance and Maintanance

Then click on See Basic Information about Your Computer
Then choose Automatic Updates
You've likely got Automatic upgrade and install ticked. Change this to autodownload, but I'll decide when to upgrade.

When you opened Word back up, it didn't have all the editing there saved temporarily? My Word does. Hmm.

Ah! My computer did the exact same thing this morning. And I had all these windows open and a word file that I lost too. Not that any of it was important, it was just frustrating. Stupid computers.

Windows update is a strange thing, it always insists that I download and install service pack 2, but I'm still refusing to do this. And it sucks that this happened to your story.

Computers suck! Too bad they're so much more convenient than writing by hand. Of course, I reverted to writing SeSa version 4 by hand after the laptop crashed (losing versions 1-3). Hopefully you've gotten him all squared away now.

*hugs*
