You showed Jim's conflicted push-pull very well, and it ended on a realistic "we'll see what happens" instead of all sweetness and light. (But now you need to write the sequel, so we can get to a better place.)
Anyway, I'd love to see your response. (And maybe, if you have to refresh your memory by scanning a couple of stories, it'll bring you back to the TS side of the fence, hint-hint.) .
