I am glad you liked it so much though. It's a verse I love a lot, so knowing other people do so too is fantastic.
They do all need to heal. Mikey needs time to learn how to trust again. Right now Frank is pretty much the only one he trusts completely, which isn't healthy at all. Him and Frank heading off like they did was very self destructive behavior. Yeah, they needed to take back control of their lives, but they picked a bad way to do so.
Really they all need to get out and kick slave trader butt. It'll help them all.
The hockey AU is giving me glee. I've decided for extra ridiculousness it needs to be set around high school age. Maybe them needing gym credits and they refuse everything until all that's left is the hockey team no one ever wants to join because the rink is falling down and the school team hasn't actually won a game in years. Of course the ages will magically adjust so everyone can be there.
So! One day Mikey is leaning against the boards, watching Gerard attempt to take the practice drills, and Pete skates up next to him, and they sort of hang out not saying anything.
They do that for weeks, never saying anything until the day that Mikey clicks that Pete is actually a jock from the soccer programme so why the heck has he joined this loser team? So he pushes up his helmet and raises an eyebrow and asks, why are you even here? And Pete's all. For you Mikeyway. So Mikey sort of nods and goes back to watching the drills.
Encouraged, Pete skates in front of him, and he's got the toe of his blade in the ice, and he tells Mikey that he's borrowed his mom's car and can give him a lift home, and Mikey's all. 'Well I came with Gerard'. So Pete's all, mope mope mope, right, and he goes to skate away when Mikey tells him. 'I tell Gee I'm going with you' and he does, and then skates off the ice and Pete didn't mean go now because practice just started, but Gerard just looks at him, throws up his arms and says, go!
The hot glue incident was vicious! Now when Gerard and Ryan get in to one of their 'artistic differences' discussions everyone runs away and leaves them to it :)
