Belated birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] justhitstatic. I hope you had a fantastic day <3

I think my computer is out to drive me insane.

Over the weekend the monitor started to fail; again. I babied it for a while, re booting and getting about ten minutes use before it would crash. After plugging in an older monitor -- which didn't work at all, mine started working fine when we connected it up again. Because obviously it's out to play with my mind.

All is good, then oh look, it's telling me I have limited or no connectivity again. I received emails at half four, yet when I logged on this morning -- nothing. Like last time Corey and James' computers are fine, it's just mine, which was connected via wireless. I give up, I have no idea what's going on.

Still, I suppose it gives me time to watch some downloaded shows, and I have a handful of alphabet ficlets to do then I'll post them all later. There you go, something different from me moaning about computer issues. It's your lucky day.

But I do have other lovely stuff going on. Like James randomly brought me a bunch of roses yesterday and [livejournal.com profile] musicboxgirl wrote me Mikey/Frank! And I loved it a lot, go read and tell her how awesome she is.

OMG! Thank you! I swear, I'm an idiot. I should have thought of that from the start.

It's working fine now :D

Totally not an idiot. I'm glad that fixed it. I wish I knew what was up with your monitor though. You guys replaced the video card not too long ago right?

Yeah, we did. It only happens every so often, the screen starts to roll slightly, stops, and then just gets worse until it freezes or pixelates badly. Then it's a case of rebooting until the no signal detected notice goes away.

The monitor is much older than the rest of my PC. It's one I had to use when the flat screen stopped working, so I wonder if it's just wearing out. I guess I'll see when I can afford a new one.

It's a CRT and not a LCD? It might be wearing out. The only thing that sounds funny is that it pixelates. If the video card is new, then its probably the monitor or a cable. Unless you find out that it does this when something hits or rolls over the cable or something like that, then most likely the monitor is going. I wish the other monitor you had worked, because then we could rule out that it isn't the new video card.

I assume so. I know it's not a LCD anyway -- I'm one of those frustrating people that know just enough to be dangerous. Sorry.

Still, it's working for now. If it hangs on another few months I can replace it. So here's hoping.
