(no subject)

It's mam's birthday today, happy birthday mam! Thank goodness you will never read this. Yesterday it was my niece's birthday. She was 7, so we were at her house for a little tea party, then the main party is on Saturday.

It's been a funny week, James started new shifts that mean we have to get up really early, and next week he doesn't start until the afternoon. Which is when Corey goes back to school, so my lie ins are over. Corey's uniform is bought, so we're all ready for him going back. He's ready to go back too. He spent most of last Friday saying he was bored, so on Saturday he got to paint the stairs and landing. Funnily enough he hasn't been bored since.

I mainlined the first season of Nurse Jackie and enjoyed it a lot.

I installed a Garfield theme for my IGoogle but it's set to a US time zone so the sun is just rising now. Which is sad making as I like the theme, but I also like having my times right.

Because I'm an idiot I totally blanked that [livejournal.com profile] cliche_bingo actually had a deadline, which I missed. I've decided to just carry on with my card anyway, even if I don't get points, because the prompts are fun. A few days ago I saw the MCR and Spiderman story classed as MCR ensemble/Spiderman, which is correct, but amused me greatly with mental images of MCR/Spiderman GSF, with make-shift web sex slings and people stuck to the ceiling and walls. But the question is, does Spiderman take off his suit to have sex, or does he have strategically placed flaps?

Between the rpf big bang and the h/c story I'm writing now I seem to have spent the last week being horribly mean to the Ways. I should be ashamed, and yet, nope.

Memes from [livejournal.com profile] littleladypunk now.

You can learn a lot about someone by the music they listen to. So here is the game! Hit shuffle on your ipod or mp3 player and write down the first 26 songs. No cheating or skipping songs that are shameful. That is the fun!

Yeah, that would make him look a bit more imposing.

With Gerard as a slightly chubby sidekick with just-got-out-of-bed hair!

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It would make him look awesome!

Though actually, what I came to comment was how interesting the thought is that it's Gerard as the sidekick. It's so often the other way around.
turlough: large orange flowers in lush green grass (gerard way is adorkable)

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It was T~. that started it!

I don't think Gerard would be a very good superhero, at least not one working alone with just a sidekick. He would need a whole team to take care of him :-D

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You agreed and in my mind that is Mikeyway approval!

That's very true. So, okay. If we're going with Mikey in his little mask and :| face. Gerard the chubby sidekick with bedhead hair, does that mean Bob is the tech guy with ingenious inventions? Or are we thinking Ray?

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Frank started out being the tech guy, but there were some close and rather explosive tech failures in the early days.

There's a reason for Frank's thanking god for Bob Bryar. Few accidents is just the most obvious.

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And when it became obvious that Gerard makes a lousy sidekick Frank didn't say "I told you so" but he kept thinking it and after pestering Mikey for three whole weeks was allowed to try it out himself :-D

That icon of yours is PERFECT

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! He'd been secretly working out and pestering Bob to show him some moves when the Ways aren't around. [Bob was part of another team initially, and spent time in the field.]
turlough: large orange flowers in lush green grass (such a brilliant star you are)

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait! Wait! So The Used is ALSO a superhero team? I wonder who is what in that one, though I guess making Bert the damsel is pretty much a given ;-D

Re: That icon of yours is PERFECT

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course they are!
And... man, I don't know. Jepha's a logical choice. [Um, if you're me anyway.] Maybe they are more of a team, instead of Mikey with sidekick and support team?

*ponders*

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid T~. and I have decided that Gerard made a lousy sidekick (but will make a good damsel) so Frank's been allowed to try out for the position and so far he's been excellent at it. But yes, Bob is now the tech guy while Ray's the guy who mans the comm board and coordinates things. And makes sure Mikey gets some rest now and then (mostly involving stopping Frank from making a pest of himself ALL THE TIME and diverting Gerard into something besides getting himself into trouble).

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, this exactly.

Team MCR FTW!

I love your journal, Terri. It fosters the best convos!

[Okay, technically I love *you* for encouraging the shenanigans, but I didn't want your journal to feel unloved.]

You and Turlough have kept me very entertained.

And my journal, and me, love you too <3

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Had to slide this back a little...

Hang on, I need to clarify. From this comment it looks like TU and MCR are the same sort of team. OH OH! Yeah, that makes a lot of since; because then FOB and Panic could be more 'group of heroes' as opposed to what Mikey and Jepha have going on. This is also how Bob ended up with MCR instead of one of the numerous start-up groups in Chicago. Pete and Mikey had met during this completely ridiculous space parasites trying to take over DC job and hit it off. So, when Bob showed up in Chicago, looking for work, Pete knew exactly where to send him.

Sorry I disappeared on you but I started reading what That Scientist wrote in [livejournal.com profile] shaggirl's old entry and couldn't look away from the trainwreck. I haven't finished yet but I needed to rest my eyes from their O___O state for a while.

Oooh, this makes EXCELLENT sense! Because I seriously couldn't imagine who would be the superhero in FOB - possibly Andy but certainly none of the others :-P

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries - we are actually reading shaggirl in unison. I spent too much time going O_O at that post last night. And I *still* can't look away.

Yeah - Pete was the one who wanted to leap into the fray, all by his lonesome, but the rest of them won't allow that so... Team FOB was a go. [Panic is, of course, directly patterned after FOB.]

But those are not the main point here. [Someone else can write that comic.]

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
His :| face would be intimidating to criminals! More so if he wore a teeny mask.

Sidekick!Gee! Yes, yes.

[I'm currently too busy reining in the internal flail/grins to say more than that. :D :D :D]
turlough: large orange flowers in lush green grass (ways)

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Gerard would make an awesomely enthusiastic sidekick, forever rushing off and getting into danger he couldn't handle himself and having to be backuped by his little brother!

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, is he supposed to be the sidekick or the damsel?
turlough: large orange flowers in lush green grass (gerard way is my favourite diva)

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I do believe he would make a better damsel than sidekick. Frank otoh would probably be a good sidekick, all scrappy and grrr!

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
This makes lots of sense. Gee's a trouble magnet, which makes this whole superhero thing that much easier for Mikey.

Frank really wanted to be the sidekick to start with, but Gerard was so determined to help Mikey out he just kept his mouth shut. But NOW, Frank is happily making merry chaos -for truth and justice and shit!
turlough: large orange flowers in lush green grass (frank stays brutal)

[personal profile] turlough 2009-09-02 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Truth and justice, oooh yes ;-P

[identity profile] crowgirl13.livejournal.com 2009-09-02 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey now, Frank fully subscribes to the Mission. Saving People! He's all for it! And if it means he gets to attempt daring feats of derring-do, it's just a job perk.
