It's been quite the week and still not over.
You may remember I mentioned changing to Sky Q. As part of that we changed our phone line provider from BT to Sky. It should have been seamless, but what happened was Sky decided to cut off our internet access too, so we've had no internet for well over a week. How they managed such a screw up I don't know. The woman who's been helping since then has been great, and in fact, managed to get us back online earlier than expected as we were originally told we'd be reconnected tomorrow. But even so, I was not amused. Plus, I forget just how much we use the internet for, none of the Alexa things would work so James couldn't turn the lights on and off easily, no reading my fire when I'm in the bath at night. Then, of course, the general communicating and browsing. Thankfully I managed to join bandom holidays by emailing Aka directly and she was a star and agreed to use my sign up info from last year, and I worked out how to make my phone a hot spot so after a few days could connect a little. Despite that, I'm so glad it's back. But what worries me is, they still need to change from the ordinary to fibre optic, so now I'm wondering how much they'll screw that up, too.
On the plus side, we got a load of tv watched.
Another bad side. Apparently, we've had a slow leak from our washer, and the floorboards now have a hole under it. The insurance person is coming out this afternoon to check out the damage and I suspect it's going to be pretty bad. I'm thankful we have the insurance, because if left I can see the floor going completely and the washer ending up in a huge hole, but our insurance excess is big anyway and has to be doubled as it's water damage.
This morning we were heading out to queue to get Corey a doctor's appointment -- he still hasn't registered at a Newcastle practice, just comes home when needed. Only to find out overnight someone has smashed our car window and stolen James' coat. That was bad enough, the car was soaked inside as it was raining really hard last night, but mam had bought him that coat and he had badges on it that she'd also bought him and meant something to them both. So that's another £50 excess to pay, and while the insurance has sent someone to weatherproof the window it shouldn't really be driven until the actual window is put back in on Friday. But of course, the loss of the coat is the worst thing.

But I am at least happy to have you back on the interwebs with me. {{{hugs}}}
(Also, in my post you mentioned your iPad- I have an extra keyboard case for an iPad- the larger size I think so 10 inch. Would you be interested in it?)

And now the insurance guy wants proof from a builder the hole was caused by a leak. Thankfully we know someone who's agreed to come out, but it's just another thing to sort out. Though it may work out better in the end if he can fix the floorboard damage without us using the insurance as a £500 excess is a big sum to pay out.
But yeah, I'm so glad to be back online, and especially that I can email using an actual keyboard. That email I sent you took over half an hour, and no way could I work out how to swap from the email I was writing to the received one so I could copy paste my assignment. I felt like the biggest internet noob that had ever noobed *g*
I would be interested, but only if you're sure you don't want to hang onto it as a spare. You may need it one day.

Yeah, home ownership is always a trial. I kind of like being able to call my sister and say, "Hey there is this wrong," and making her deal with it. (I'm definitely the younger sister!)
No worries- I have a new one and I don't think I'll be needing the old one. I will send it along with your Christmas present. :-)

But yeah, the sleet was the perfect finishing touch to the morning. And it started so mildly annoying with a post on fandom secrets that made me bristle. If only it had stayed at that minor level of bristling *g*
Kayleigh is quite happy renting from the council, and sometimes I think she has the right idea. No repairs to worry about sounds like a big plus right now.
You're the best. Thank you ♥
