It's been quite the week and still not over.

You may remember I mentioned changing to Sky Q. As part of that we changed our phone line provider from BT to Sky. It should have been seamless, but what happened was Sky decided to cut off our internet access too, so we've had no internet for well over a week. How they managed such a screw up I don't know. The woman who's been helping since then has been great, and in fact, managed to get us back online earlier than expected as we were originally told we'd be reconnected tomorrow. But even so, I was not amused. Plus, I forget just how much we use the internet for, none of the Alexa things would work so James couldn't turn the lights on and off easily, no reading my fire when I'm in the bath at night. Then, of course, the general communicating and browsing. Thankfully I managed to join bandom holidays by emailing Aka directly and she was a star and agreed to use my sign up info from last year, and I worked out how to make my phone a hot spot so after a few days could connect a little. Despite that, I'm so glad it's back. But what worries me is, they still need to change from the ordinary to fibre optic, so now I'm wondering how much they'll screw that up, too.

On the plus side, we got a load of tv watched.

Another bad side. Apparently, we've had a slow leak from our washer, and the floorboards now have a hole under it. The insurance person is coming out this afternoon to check out the damage and I suspect it's going to be pretty bad. I'm thankful we have the insurance, because if left I can see the floor going completely and the washer ending up in a huge hole, but our insurance excess is big anyway and has to be doubled as it's water damage.

This morning we were heading out to queue to get Corey a doctor's appointment -- he still hasn't registered at a Newcastle practice, just comes home when needed. Only to find out overnight someone has smashed our car window and stolen James' coat. That was bad enough, the car was soaked inside as it was raining really hard last night, but mam had bought him that coat and he had badges on it that she'd also bought him and meant something to them both. So that's another £50 excess to pay, and while the insurance has sent someone to weatherproof the window it shouldn't really be driven until the actual window is put back in on Friday. But of course, the loss of the coat is the worst thing.

Oh no, changing providers always leads to some screw up like that. I had internet issues last year and it killed me not to have access. I didn’t know what to do with myself at all, I was so reliant on it for gaming and everything.

I’m glad you were able to get things sorted out! And that you got signed up to bandom holiday too, I’m looking forward to seeing what people come up with it. Hopefully there’ll be no further screw ups with your net

Watching stuff is good! My trouble is I always find more stuff to watch instead of watching what I have to go through. Oops.

Damn, that sucks. i hope you can get that sorted too.

And fuck, this isn’t your week, I’m so sorry all this stuff has happened. I hope things get better

Oh of course. Saying things will go smoothly is code for ‘lol nope’ it seems. Yeah! Me too when I lose mine!

That’s cool! I hope whatever you’ve got inspires you as much as my one has me 💜

Oh yeah! I have binged like... six series at least this year on Netflix! Currently I’m on the Good Place, but the dragon prince and disenchantment were awesome too

Goood luck, here’s hoping the worst is over

Wow, hate to say it, but if you guys didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. Poor internet and poor car, and such sadness about the jacket.

But I am at least happy to have you back on the interwebs with me. {{{hugs}}}

(Also, in my post you mentioned your iPad- I have an extra keyboard case for an iPad- the larger size I think so 10 inch. Would you be interested in it?)

Oh, man. Sleeting too? Talk about walking uphill both ways in the snow. *g*

Yeah, home ownership is always a trial. I kind of like being able to call my sister and say, "Hey there is this wrong," and making her deal with it. (I'm definitely the younger sister!)

No worries- I have a new one and I don't think I'll be needing the old one. I will send it along with your Christmas present. :-)

wow - what a load of ungood things landing on you recently! being without internet for so long is tortuous, especially as it's running stuff around the house too. glad you're back online!

I'm so sorry about the car damage - what jerks! and the loss of the coat makes it so much more painful.

I'm so sorry about your trash fire of a week, and especially about the coat! It's bad enough getting robbed, but did they have to take something with so much sentimental value?

Uhg, you've had a bit of a week - I hope that's all of the things bye with now, and the insurance is as painless as possible.

What a horribly frustrating week you must have had without internet! I'll keep my fingers crossed the changeover to fibre will be MUCH smoother!

Oh no! Water leaks are awful. I hope it won't be too expensive to fix the damage.

Oh no, once again! As if it wasn't enough breaking the window and stealing a much-loved coat they had to do it when it was pouring down. Your luck has really been TERRIBLE lately! I better send you lots and lots of good thoughts and positive vibes! *hugs you a lot*

Oh wow, what a lot of tough things stacked up! I hope the various damages can be fixed soon. And that's really sad that the coat is gone. Sending you both all best wishes.

Oooof, being without internet is the pits! (I ended up having to get my modem upgraded (for free) by my internet provider company because my internet connection went hardcore!wonky for about two weeks. Thankfully, I have unlimited data plan on my phone (but it's not the same thing, you know?)

Ooof abt the washer and the loss of the jacket. :(
