(no subject)

someone's just took the tree from our garden. The Christmas tree that we picked out special and strung with lights. It was a 7 foot tree and they climbed over our 6 foot fence and just took it. I hate people. I know it's only a tree but to just take it. what kind of person would do that?

God I'm crying over a stupid tree here. Sorry.

Terri, I'm so sorry honey, that really sucks. We have a problem around here with people stealing garden gnomes and Canadian flags (real fuckin' patriotic to *steal* a flag.) Short of putting barbed-wire up, you can put some oil/lubricant on the fence to deter them. Because once they start to climb, it will be slippery and someone will be more likely to notice something going on.

My dad did that with the chain-link fence we have out back... put some really thick lubricant on it so that when the teenagers started to climb it, they slipped. Of course it was dark out and we heard one of them exclaim, "Eww... it's covered in dog shit." LOL!

Stealing flags, that's just wrong! I swear some people just don't have any shame. But the oil is a fantastic idea, I think we'll do that in the morning. The fence is big enough you'll only get messed up if you're trying to climb it.

Thanks for the idea, and the sympathy.

It's also a great way to catch people... as in, "where did that oil on your jacket/shirt/pants come from?"
