someone's just took the tree from our garden. The Christmas tree that we picked out special and strung with lights. It was a 7 foot tree and they climbed over our 6 foot fence and just took it. I hate people. I know it's only a tree but to just take it. what kind of person would do that?
God I'm crying over a stupid tree here. Sorry.

Date: 2003-12-09 12:41 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry for you, sis, you were so happy about your tree! I'm pissed off on your behalf.

Date: 2003-12-09 02:59 pm (UTC)I suspect it's probably the same people. We've lived here nearly 7 years and in all that time we've had Corey's outside toys in the garden and they've never been stolen, so two things in as many days is too much of a coincidence I think.
Some people have no shame, and despite being sad at what's happened I'll always know I'm the better person and would never stoop to stealing.
BTW, did you see the pics I put up? I changed the entry to private but wasn't sure if they'd been seen.

Date: 2003-12-09 03:12 pm (UTC)As for the pics you put up, I was going to ask you. I actually saw the entry, then when I wanted to check the pics, I was told that I couldn't see it, and when I went back to my f-list, the entry had disappeared altogether *blink*

Date: 2003-12-09 04:21 pm (UTC)Thank you. *preens a little*
You've seen the pics now *g* I posted then the tree was taken and I was feeling insecure about posting anyway so that's all it took to make the entry private.
But they're up now, though you already know that :)

Date: 2003-12-09 12:41 pm (UTC)It's a tree that you painstakingly decorated, and you have EVERY RIGHT to be angry. The nerve of some people! Could they be the ones who took the aquarium?
*HUGS*

Date: 2003-12-09 03:03 pm (UTC)I felt I had to say sorry because really it's a minor thing but you're also right, there was a lot of effort and heart in that tree.
I think it would be the same people, like I said to Castalie we've lived here 7 years and in that time have never had a thing stolen, then this happens twice in as many days. Too much of a coincidence I think.
*hugs you back* thank you.

Date: 2003-12-09 12:51 pm (UTC)what the hell?!?!
the nerve of some people. so so not cool. thats just plain mean and for what? it meant something to you guys what would it mean to them?

Date: 2003-12-09 03:06 pm (UTC)I can never tell you how much it helps for people to be there when I need them. A hug, even if it's virtual is such a gift.
The tree means nothing to them, just something they stole from a garden. But we have our memories of choosing it, and they can't take them.
*hugs you back* thank you.

Bastards. Every one of them.

Date: 2003-12-09 03:13 pm (UTC)I think the Grinch/Scrooge thing is right. Trees aren't that expensive, stealing one that's decorated and attached to the house with the lights is just beyond belief.
Thanks for the hugs, they helped a lot, and now I'm going to think about your TS meme some.
*hugs you back*
o\/o!!!!!!!!
Date: 2003-12-09 01:14 pm (UTC)Terri, don't you or James or Corey freak out when you accidentally catch sight of a ninja lurking under the eaves above your garden.
That'll be me, waiting to exact vengeance on your behalf, and I know a -=LOT=- of ways to kill people. And injure them. Severely. And I specialize in mental torture, though I'm doubting these Neanderthals have enough intelligence to make that worthwhile.
Seriously, I'm so pissed off I can't stand it. I'm, like, actively concentrating on invoking karma and hoping these ABSOLUTE BASTARDS get what they deserve. Preferably three- or ten- fold.
*goes to pack my tabi, uniform, and a concealable package that can be smuggled through airport security...*
Re: o\/o!!!!!!!!
Date: 2003-12-09 01:22 pm (UTC)..except it relies on your intruders actually having brains, but...
Put a sign in your garden, advising all who read it that you're a big fan of the end scene of "Sleeping With the Enemy". You know, where Julia Roberts covers the intruder with her gun while she dials the police, and says "Hello? I need the police; I've just shot an intruder."
Then hangs up and proceeds to do so.
*hugs*
Sorry, Terri-Luv, I'm being all irrational on your behalf, but this kinda thing just galls me to the limit. You should immediately replace the tree with a nicer one as a "Fuck Off!" to these people, and also wire it with a paint bomb. That permanent paint they use in school fire alarms.
((((((Terri))))))
Don't let 'em get you down; don't change your lifestyle just 'cuz they're affecting it. That would be them winning.
Re: o\/o!!!!!!!!
Date: 2003-12-09 03:33 pm (UTC)I also understand where you're coming from about getting a new bigger tree, and maybe I still will but just now I don't think I can take something else being stolen. The thought that someone climbed over the fence, which is 6 foot plus is freaking me out to be honest.
I want to be all defiant and say, fuck you. I just don't know if I can yet.
Thanks for the hugs *hugs you back tight*
Re: o\/o!!!!!!!!
Date: 2003-12-09 03:20 pm (UTC)Your post was awesome, not least because it allowed me to imagine all kinds of nasty things to happen to tree stealers, which they totally deserve.
You're the best kind of friend to have.

Date: 2003-12-09 01:14 pm (UTC)what kind of person would do that?
the kind of person who steal empty fish tanks from yards!
God I'm crying over a stupid tree here. Sorry.
No need to be sorry, love! and I guess it's not the "stupid tree" you're crying about, it's the act! who would steal a tree? someone entered your garden, of course you're shaken! everyone would be! it's unfair!
Terri, love, it's okay to cry and let go. Is James around? And Corey? huggle them! cause I know that a nice e-huggle is nice, but not the same thing.
Grrrr these kind of people make me go balistic - I want to shake my fist at them and say that it's not fair! especially hurting my friends grrrr!
if you need anything, if there's anything I could do?
(((((huggles)))))

Date: 2003-12-09 03:37 pm (UTC)You're totally right, it wasn't really the tree that was the problem, it was the fact someone had come into my space and took something that meant so much. When you commented James was out trying to find the thieves but he sure got a hug when he got back, Corey too.
The only thing I needed was the thing I got, all of you taking time just to be there. Thank you.
*hugs you back*

Date: 2003-12-09 01:40 pm (UTC)is there anyway you can light something else in your garden? maybe string lights in a bare tree already planted there, or along the house or something; something that would be festive, but much harder for morons to steal.
no subject
Date: 2003-12-09 03:42 pm (UTC)I did have lights strung along the shed roof, but we've taken them down. Until the garden's more secure I'm not going to give anyone the chance to steal anything more. But we still have the ones on the roof, those are going nowhere.

Date: 2003-12-09 03:45 pm (UTC)I agree with you. The tank really wasn't that much of a surprise but taking a decorated Christmas tree just takes scumbags to another level.
They are arseholes, I hope the thing falls on them!

Date: 2003-12-09 04:38 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry about Corey freaking out. People fucking suck. We were burgled about four years ago (by someone we knew, fucker) and I've been paranoid ever since. And I'm 21 lol Never really goes away, why can't people just stop being fuckheads? eh lol glad to hear you're doin' something about it. I had a small giggle at the thought of them being caught 'cause it's on the radio hee

Date: 2003-12-10 05:55 am (UTC)I'd love it if they were caught because of the radio thing, but knowing the dickheads round here the trees probably been burnt now.

Date: 2003-12-09 03:30 pm (UTC)My dad did that with the chain-link fence we have out back... put some really thick lubricant on it so that when the teenagers started to climb it, they slipped. Of course it was dark out and we heard one of them exclaim, "Eww... it's covered in dog shit." LOL!

Date: 2003-12-09 04:03 pm (UTC)I like the idea of oil on the wall... but my sister had an alternate suggestion. You could string a wire (attached to an air-horn or alarm? or with large bells on it?) inside your garden, quite near the wall, so people trying to get over will encounter it. It wouldn't work if you have animals though.
I hope that your vandal gets what's coming to him!
(now would be the perfect time for an angry icon!)
