It's grey and cold and has been raining since I woke up this morning. Where has the sun gone, that's what I want to know.
We drove into town and I had a patch test done at the brow bar, so will be able to get my lashes soon, well as long as no reaction. It'll be nice to see them again instead of having blonde stubs. The lady doing the test suggested I get lash extensions, but they seem a bit high maintenance to me, especially as they're significantly more expensive than a simple tint.
I also picked up a bottle of Karma shower gel from Lush. It's my favourite scent they do so was thrilled when I found out it was coming back in shower gel form. The staff were also lovely when James' back went, getting him a chair to rest on for a bit. While I understand why it's the case it's frustrating when things like that happen and all the benches and chairs have been taped up or taken away from the malls. A few minutes sit and James could walk again, but on the way out we passed a woman who was having to sit on the floor, her family huddled around her. And I just think a few seats could have been left out, even if some were taped off.
A total change of topic. Most of you probably won't know the show, but I enjoy watching A League of Their Own, especially the roadtrips. I was watching the new episode last night and really miss Jack being on the show full time and got to wondering if any fic exists for the show so today decided to see if it does -- and of course it does. Not much admittedly, and most was bad but I found one story that was enjoyable. So way to go fandom, bringing me what I wanted to read yet again.

how nice you got some great smelly stuff! I agree about the removal of chairs; block some off to allow social distancing, but leave some available for those who need them. like James, like me (and so many others)

The chair situation is stupid. I understand they don't want people sitting together and socialising but having no chairs at all is a problem for many. Especially so as cafes are still take away only so it's not like people can stop for a drink and sit down. Right now once you go into the malls you have to stay on your feet until you're done, and that's beyond many people.

It's so awesome when fandom comes through!

I love that I can usually find what I go looking for fic wise. Yes, maybe what I do find isn't to my taste but it's still evidence that someone out there gets what I'm thinking about, and that's great.

Go Lush. Both for having your favorite again and for helping James. I agree that it is shortsided to remove all chairs.
I've never heard of A League of Their Own. Is it based on the movie with Gina Davis and Tom Hanks?

They really need to get some of the chairs and benches back already. Yeah, don't put them out in groups like before, but there should be something for those needing to sit down for a while.
Ah no. Not that movie and I suspect you'd have never guessed I would like this show when I talk about it.
It's a sports quiz show that used to be hosted by James Corden before he got famous in the US and then got stuck there due to COVID. Now, I'm not into sports at all, but the show has gone beyond that anyway and while it still mostly sticks to the quiz format, in reality, it's all about the interaction between the captains, regulars and guests which are usually a comedian and a sportsperson.
The two captains are Jamie and Freddie, an ex-footballer and ex-cricketer, while Jack was a regular for years as a resident comedian. I really like all three of them, and Jack especially though often don't know why as his whole thing is pretty much a posh slightly camp guy.
The road trips do away with the quiz format completely and have them, plus James before he left going to various places around the world and doing challenges and really, just having fun and being stupid together. For example, they all were cheerleaders once and another time Jamie lost a challenge and had to do the climax scene in the When Harry Met Sally restaurant.
Jack left the show a few seasons ago as he got a role in a Disney film with The Rock, and then COVID hit and he was stuck in the UK so came back for a UK road trip and it just made me laugh so much.
This is Freddie, Jack and Jamie and I'll shut up now as it really is a niche show, especially for fic *g*

Cute picture and they do look jovial, but yeah not where I thought that was going! Particularly when you said road trip! AHaha. But glad you are having fun with it.

Exactly! I understand too but it's so hard on people with limited mobility. Even if a handful of seats were left it would help.

Congratulations to having your favourite scent again!

I was so pleased they brought back Karma. It's such a lovely smell.
