The guest rooms are all aired out for when we inevitably have drunken guests crash here and I even bought band aids with Sponge Bob Square pants on in case the kids have any accidents. The party will be a success, they’re our friends, things don’t have to be perfect.

“Want to bet Chris, Nick and Justin will have those band aids on by the end of the night?” Sighing, Lance leaned back against Howie. “You’re right. I just want it to be special you know.”

“I know. But it would be special even if it was just us, two dry buns and a can of cheap hot dogs. I just want to be with you, and remember back when. Our friends being here is just a bonus, so don’t worry so much. We’re going to have a wonderful BBQ and celebrate our anniversary in style. Maybe I’ll tell the others how I fell in love with a wildcat with gleaming eyes and white teeth.”

“I think they know that one already.”

“So I’ll tell it again. I love you Lance Bass and I don’t care who knows it.” Hugging Lance tighter for a moment, Howie kissed him against his neck then stood. “The marinade should be ready now; I’ll go and get it while you tell me again how you would have won a fight with Kevin.”

I loved it, too. Lovely. Howie was wonderful, Lance was lovely, and I loved Chris and Kevin, even in their absence.

Sadly, that seems to be how it is in much of the fandom. ::frowns:: I don't understand why. They're both pretty, and famous, and they go to the opening of everything from restruants to clubs to envelopes. More people should write them.

I'm glad you liked everyone, it was difficult judging how much to mention any of the others without taking anything away from Howie and Lance.

I figure if they're sitting cooking they'll be talking about people they know, so I used the opportunity to sneak Chris and Kevin in ;)

About the Howie/Lance thing. I know I didn't think about them because my mind was focussed almost totally on Chris and Kevin. Even if I did write them with someone else, like Lance or Nick it was those two I was thinking about.

Then I got my sesa and had to write Nick/JC, JC/Joey then these ficlets have thrown up some pairings I certainly haven't thought about. I've a AJ/Joey on my list still!

LOL, this is a long way of say that I can see the appeal of pairings outside of the Chris and Kevin ones now.

So yes, more people should write Howie/Lance, I totally agree!

..This one was tons o' fun, too; I love your Lance, he's a wonderful cross of uber-organized control freak while simultaneously being the sweet Southern gentleman... ..very nice. And Sweet Howie D, too, of course.

I must admit to having an eeep moment when Noora asked for this, but I think it came out okay.

I could just see Lance and Howie making salad etc and talking across the table. And yeah, Lance is a control-freak but Howie would have it no other way. Plus he makes up for it in lots of other ways! ;)
