Thank you to everyone that gave links and thoughts about dog shoes, I have a load of options to investigate now and hopefully Brock will have his shoes soon. But oh man, searching through the links I found these. OMG, look at them! Little bunny pjs for dogs. I had so much glee I tell you, and this is why it's a good thing that I have no money to waste on frivolous things because if I did I'd be buying Tex bunny pjs and he'd hate me forever.
There's a German market set up in Sunderland at the moment. I have doubts about how authentic the market is, I suspect a few wooden cabins selling sausages in buns and egg nog doesn't give you the true German market experience, but it was good place to spend an hour or so. I resisted buying the candied nuts and drooled over the chocolate and left buying nothing. But of note was the fact there was only James and I there. Corey stayed at his friend's house and there were no in laws! It felt weird walking around without being followed by a gaggle of people.
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
(1) I know people have little money to spare at this time of year, but if you have and want to contribute to charity I'd love if you'd consider these. The Parkinson's Disease Society and The Dorough Lupus Foundation. My dad has Parkinsons, my mam has lupus sle so I know how those diseases can affect lives, but really giving anything will do. Spare change in a collection tin, dog food to a shelter, clothes to a charity shop. It all helps.
(2) I'm stealing this from
mickeym as I'm sneaky like that. Leave feedback to someone, a story, icons, anything that someone has put out there. Feedback is a great thing and it doesn't have to be detailed and long, believe me, I liked that does just as well.
(3) I want season 4 of Mutant X. I want Brennan back and the show to be as good as it was in season 1. I miss my pretty mutants. On that theme, I miss Voyager too, though that show at least got to 7 seasons, unlike poor MX :(
(4) I want someone to suck out the words from my head and write them down so I end with a 50,000 word SeSa story that gets recced to hell.
(5) I want a trickc epic filled with all the things I love. Angst and h/c while hitting my kinks. Oh wait,
mickeym and
nopseud have already filled that. *loves on Absinthe* Okay then, I'll take a Chris epic, any pairing I'm not fussy.
(6) If an epic isn't possible I'll take any fic. Knowing someone has taken time to write something geared to me is always a kick. Some of my favourite things have been written in comments and I treasure every one. I don't care if the story is 100 words or 100,000 just taking the time to write anything is awesome. Pairing wise I adore Chris/anyone, and I mean anyone, or even anything ;) Though TrickC are my favourite. Jim/Blair, Brennan/Jesse, Nick/Philip, Dean/Sam, Charlie/Don, Chakotay/Paris, Paris/Kim, Quinn/anyone ( why don't people write Sliders slash?! Why!? ) Richie/Methos, Harper/Tyr, Kevin/Nick, Chase/Foreman, and if you know all those you're probably
castalie *g*
(7) Icons. *Points up*
(8) Dropping another 100 pounds by Christmas. Hey, I can dream.
(9) Did I mention I like Chris fic?
(10) Okay, last one. I want everyone that's reading this to go do something that makes them happy. Go make a hot drink and sip at it while reading a good fic. Hug a loved one, be that human, animal or heck, plant if that's your thing. Eat chocolate, listen to music. Just do it and enjoy a selfish moment just for you.
I've probably missed a load of wishlists so if you've got one point me to it.

You know I'd really love a new Choey and trickyfish icon so if you had any ideas about those that would be fantastic. Only when you have time though, I'm in no hurry :)

And you're welcome. We used to update daily but with the holiday season updates have been sparce, but they should soon be getting back to daily. Until, alas, we finish, and hopefully by then I'll have website to host my fan fiction, at which point in time you'd be more than welcome to read other Chris stories I write. Hehe :)
