I've been drying laundry today, and when I set the tumbler off earlier there were thumping sounds. Before anyone worries, no cats were harmed. It must have been jeans wadded up or something, but I counted my cats, and Tex multiple times. I've had issues about using the tumbler since before, and often have panicked cat counting moments when I'm using it. But this sound, it was exactly the same, and even though I knew they were all fine, I still kept counting. Then James came in, heard and despite me telling him that they were all fine, he eventually checked himself, and man, I felt sick to the stomach. What if I'd been wrong and one of them were in there?
They weren't. Freesia is on the tower, Tinker on top of the fridge, Milo is playing with some paper, and Tex is asleep on the couch. It's just, I miss Moffet so much right now, and I know she was only a cat, but she was my cat and I loved her so much.
I'm fine, I don't need comments or hugs. I'm just going to go hug my animals and then throw myself into the SeSa excitement. Just, if you have a pet, go give it some love from me.

And it takes a while to truly get used to them being gone. I was locking up after Mum when she went to work this morning, and I seriously checked to see whether Misty was there and wanting to come in. Old habits die hard, I guess. But a few months have gone by now, and at least I can talk about her without bursting into tears.

We're lucky to have animals that love us so.

Yeah, that's it. I can understand that freak out because Moffet has a double that lives on our estate. It's like seeing ghost from the past walk past.
My cats help me so much. They're there with love and purrs and unconditional love. I can't ask for anything more. I'm glad you still have that from Tricky, just without the purrs.

And for the record, I still catch myself tossing food on the floor, expecting Jake to catch it. Old habits, man.

It is hard to break those habits. Especially as sometimes it feels like they're going to walk around the corner any minute.

It's such a sickening feeling you know? I was transported back to that horrible time when we found her.

{surprise hugs!}

Obviously she needs to continue with the stand at door and look at food trick, the cringing just isn't cutting it.
You're all very stealthy with the hugs. Thank you :)

I say - LOVE YOU!

Don't ever say that *hugs despite being told not to* If you love your cats the way I love my bunnies (which, seriously, sounds even more stupid; I mean... bunnies!), they're not "just cats", despite what any "non-pet" people might think.
*goes to cuddle her girls*

I'm so glad you get to cuddle yours.

It's horrible to lose a pet. No ifs, ands or buts about it. You're more than entitled to still be upset about it. I hope you're doing better again. ♥

It was a weird night. I mean, I was so happy about SeSa, but that was wrapped in Moffet memories.
