James is suddenly obsessed with crosswords. He buys the puzzle magazines and sends off the competitions, which fine, except he seems to think I'm a walking trivia book. When he gets started not a minute goes by without him asking how to spell something, or is this person has a rose named after them, and, how am I supposed to know? It's a good thing that my Google Fu is strong.

Also, the MiL was on my hit list this morning. Saturday is the only day I get to lie in, which is something I've been looking forward to, because I've been so tired this week. This morning there's a phone call, the answering machine picks up and it's the MiL calling and telling James to phone as soon as he could. Minutes later she phones again, and I'm all, OMG, someone died! because she just doesn't call normally. It turns out that she needed a ladder bringing to her house and as we have the biggest car, well we get the job. But what got me was the FiL had already gone to pick it up and was waiting until we could take him and the ladder home. What would they have done if we'd gone out for the day? Towed it back tied to the MiL's mobility scooter? That plus discovering BT have cut our phone line to incoming calls only again made for a frustrating morning.

I was checking the flist earlier and saw my little MCR story had been included in

dotcoms_refresh and I had a moment of dorky eeeepatude, because how did they know?

Sort of related, I've been enjoying all the Panic squee on the flist/friendsfriends lately. Panic still haven't managed to get their hook in me, but still, fannish glee is awesome.

Also, this is something I've been wondering about. In popslash BSB and Nsync are labelled together as popslash, yet in reality they're two totally different fandoms. Sure, there's a cross over of some fans, but the two groups of fans remain very distinct. So, is it like that in bandom? Are the MCR, FOB, Panic fans ( the biggest three as far as I see ) separate or just one mixed up bunch?

6 minutes until I download the final part of my next Without a Trace episode. I swear I've been like a junkie for this show lately. I need more, now!

ETA: James was just reading out a list of the new scout badges, one of which is advanced aviation. Somehow I don't think many of those will be given out.

It's cool when fandom enriches something you love anyway. I've enjoyed MCR's music for a while, then FOB came after that. Totally due to Pete, I saw the Dance Dance video and fell in lust. Still, I stayed at a level of liking the music and occasionally reading a story here and there for a long time.

Then suddenly my love for Mikey became hot like fire, and it was all over :)

Kekeke that's what happened with Gerard and I. I saw MCR's video for I'm Not Okay like......god when I was a Sophomore in high school and thought the guys were cute. I had looked them up online but there wasn't really much about them except for their official site which still lacked. So I kinda pushed them aside even though Helena and Ghost of You soon followed after that whole intial viewing. I can remember so well too because I was at home sick and was just like " ohhh boys. " Then randomly one day last year I caught the black parade song on the radio shortly before the CD was dropped. I liked it, waited until December and then decided I had to have the CD ( even tohugh I had already gotten most of their music ). Gerard had always been the one that had drawn me in. His voice, his way of thinking, his artistic abilties, and just him in general. My love just like blew up in December last year and refused to fade so

duoshinigami got stuck with me babbling about Gerard constantly whether she liked it or not. I like to think she did. Slowly but surely she got sucked in though. *cough* Damn I ramble for like ever. I'm sorry lol.

Also, when I first for into MCR I always thought Gerard was like 23-25 in age. I was freakishly surprised when I learned he was 29 going on 30. I still can't look at him and acknowledge that he's going to be 31, drank, and did drugs. He came out of it all so well.

No need to apolagise for rambling, there's nothing better than fannish love, it's an awesome thing.

I remember being very impressed with the I'm Not Okay vid, especially as it was on high rotation on the Kerrang music channel at the time. Of course I wasn't at school like you, far from it *g*
