Updating on the car thing. The police came out, but despite the many fingerprints said they couldn't use them because the car had been in the open all night. Same for the garden fork, which basically means they're doing nothing. While I realise this is minor crime in comparison to many, I'm boggling that the evidence is there, and they can't do a thing with it.

Thankfully we don't leave valuable items in the car, so the only things taken were stupid things. Like the torch was keep in case of break downs, stuff like that. Probably a few CDs ruined, because they just tossed everything everywhere.

The insurance have been called, but because it's a mobility car they said they can't do a thing until tomorrow afternoon. Also, the local newspaper have been out, how they found out I don't know, but James has had his picture taken and been interviewed.

Still, it could have been so much worse. The central locks did their job ( from the looks of things they used the fork on the passenger side door, and when they couldn't leaver that open, smashed the window and climbed in that way. ) and at least the car wasn't taken. Whether that's because it was opportunist thieves who thought the sat nav system was in there or because they were baffled because the car is adapted for James to drive, I don't know. Which ever one it was, at least they didn't take it. Plus, James being off work means we don't have to worry about transport at the moment. So yes, that's a silver lining.

Thanks for all the comments and being angry for us. The threats of retribution and name calling helped a lot. :)

I had the police out to my apartment for one of the break-ins. All they told me was that it was messy. [at the time I was working 3 jobs and about 100 hours a week]. I hope you can get repairs made and paid quickly. And I have to say. Better your car than your home. There's far less emotional trauma involved. Criminals stink!

hot Chris as distractionary measure.

That sucks that the police won't/can't do anything. But like you siad, at least they couldn't steal anything worthwhile and it could have been worse.

Still.

That sucks so much!! First to have your car broken into and then have to hear that there isn't much the police can do to find whoever did it! At least it wasn't stolen outright which must be at least some consolation I hope. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll get the damage repaired swiftly and without too much hassle with the insurance company!! *sends lots of virtual hugs and good thoughts to you all*

God, I know exactly how you feel. Just violated and angry and vindictive and plotting revenge. Totally how I felt when my car was broken into. *hugs and curses to the perportrators.

Bah! I'm sorry I didn't hear about this sooner I'd have liked to help with the name calling on your behalf. :(

That so sucks. But like you say, at least they didn't take the car. *sending hugs your way*

Oh no, that blows. I'm sorry to hear nothing can be done about this. Thankfully, transportation seems to be taken care of and insurance will take care of the rest but still. How awful. *hugs*
