Thank you to everyone who posted such lovely things on the 'things I like about you' post. I was feeling a little blah last night so every comment was much appreciated. It was so cool to see people who I've known for years alongside new friends. I'm so lucky in the people I'm surrounded with, and I hope you all know how much I appreciate that.
And that's all I've got. So tell me flist of mine. What are you writing right now? Reading? Drawing? Doing? Anything fun?

I wish I was reading/writing/doing other fun stuff! This week is just work drudgery. It's a real downer after last week's excitement. My most fun thing is rewatching the clip of Frankie rapping. I'm obsessive that way.
*g*
no subject
Gah, work isn't fun at all. Still, Frankie rapping is an awesome thing to compulsively watch. I have to admit, I've been compulsively watching Brendon do a standing back flip. Just, guh!

Me, I'm working. Looking up contact information for travel agencies, to be exact. Kind of fun, actually, albeit time-consuming.

How's things going today, work wise? Better I hope.

Well, I talked to my contact Åke this morning, and he'd get back to me either today or tomorrow. And now when I came back from lunch, his co-worker who was the one who told me of this job in the first place was here to check on me. I told her my concerns, and she'd talk to Åke about it.
The one who's really supposed to be my supervisor is home today due to arthritis, and I still don't really feel like I'm getting through to my other boss, but we'll see. Also, out of less than three work hours, I've been completely alone in the office for over 1h 20 mins...which is against the rules.
I'm hopeful, though, since Helena said we need to have a meeting - and soon.

That's good that you're talking to someone, because it sucks that you've been thrown in the deep end like that. Still, yes it does sound hopeful.
They're lucky to have you. They should give you the support you need.

That they are!

*nods* Exactly.
Still, yes it does sound hopeful.
It really does. The one thing I'm worried about is that the company will see me as disloyal when I tell the job center about things I'd like to change.
They're lucky to have you.
They really are. With the right support, I'm a big asset. Heck, with the wrong support I'm pretty darned good, too. ;)
They should give you the support you need.
They really should.

I know people love the shoebox project a lot so I know you're going to have a fantastic time.
I approve strongly of this plan of yours.

But! Everyday on my way home now, I think of you! Isn't that fun?
There's a yard with a weird--it's probably an eagle, but it's a really malformed eagle--winged statue right by the driveway. And I think, "OMG! Dragon! It's probably got a dead body gripped in its claws! It's stolen from the Way's garden in Terri's fic! Heee~~"

Oh man. This gives me so much glee, you don't even know!

(Actually, why I used to write under several pennames was because I did have a secret fan identity for a while. Like... even some people that I chatted to on an every-day basis didn't know I was both screennames. I would have told them, but... the first time my alter-ego posted something to the mailing list, two of my chat friends were all "OMG, what a total bitch! Hatehatehate." And I wasn't brave enough to tell them the truth. But I gave it up after a couple years. Too much drama. And I decided to just be my bitchy old self.)
So, anyway. Yes. I am a spy. A happy, gardening AU spy.
no subject
That does sound like a load of drama. I would have been torn between being mortified and pissed off in that chat. Still, being yourself has to be the best thing
Though I can see the appeal of having different pen names. I often ponder about writing something ridiculous and posting it to one of the communities that gobble up the badfic. I mean, it wouldn't work in popslash because the fandom is too close-knit, but elsewhere. It could work.
Your icon! I love it so.
no subject
(Isn't it a great icon? And I barely get a chance to use it any more, except for you!)
My attitude toward badfic has changed a lot. It used to get me all riled up and now I'm pretty laid back about it. Some of it amuses me a lot. And the rest. Well, there's got to be a reason why it's that popular. So let them read badfic--just so long as there's still good stuff for me to read.
You can do the Sex-slave/tentacle fic under an assumed name! You know you want to. *g*

The thing is though, these stories do get comments, lots of them, so people obviously enjoy on a non-badfic level. Because they're crazy like that.

You know me too well! Like this maybe?
Title: Alien v Mikeyway
Author: mikeyluvsme
POV: Mikey's
Notes: Mikey is 16 in this, cos I want him to be.
Mikey shivered as teh tenticle crept closer! The chains around his willowy wrists and ankles had rubed his skin raw and blood trickled down his alabaster skin as he tried to back away.
It came closer!
Whimpering he felt the slick end of tenticle touch his hole. He gasped as it pushed into him, filling him up with green slimy flesh that pulsated. Eyes screwed shut he thought of Gerard. Gerard would come and save him! Gerard always saved him!
A single tear slid down Mikeys face as another tenticle wrapped around his rod, humiliation rearing as the crowd yelled in appoval.
Where was Gerard!?
~*~*~*~
Will Gerard come for Mikey!? If you like it I may write more!

(Dude, I'm a little scared now because I started thinking "I really need a tentacle icon.")

I am not really doing anything fun, as I am at work. Though I feel like I've earned chocolate, since I have steadfastly resisted the overwhelming desire to jam my pen into my co-worker's jugular. *makes with the crazy!eyes*
I'd rather be doing art or loafing around at a coffeehouse. *sighs*
no subject
You totally deserve chocolate. Lots of it even. *smites annoying co-worker for you*
I wish you could be doing art or at the coffeehouse too.

Well, earlier today I was at my sister's house and had tea/coffee with her and my mother and watched them garden. (She got to make use of our mother today and I get her tomorrow :-) Right now I'm at the computer catching up on the flist and watching Lancecat spy on the birds outside.

That sounds like a lovely way to spend a day. I really like that you get to see your family so often now :)

Is that the Wipeout fic? If so I've had it tabbed for ages, but I shall go and read now.
Good luck with the job hunt.

I just got home from a trip to Sussex to see my grandad, during which there was the endless hilarity of a 67 year old and a 96 year old trying to work out why a mobile phone had stopped working. I sat back and giggled for about ten minutes before stepping in. *g* Now I'm home I'm going to beta the fic that in my inbox and then write fic of my own. huzzah.
no subject
Just the thought of my nanna with a mobile makes me laugh. She rocks but even the video baffles her.
Oh, fic. Anything you can tell me about? Yours I mean, I'm not after beta secrets.
no subject
Woo, I'm rambly today.
Fic - the fic I am betaing is a Lost fic so you probably wouldn't be interested anyway. The fic I am writing is the result of the other fics I am working on refusing to write themselves, thus my brain went to it's default setting and said 'hey, let's write Ryan/Jon'. So I am. In a vague turning into GSF kind of a way. *hands*
