(no subject)

Has anyone downloaded Firefox 3 yet? I'm tempted but have so many add ons that I'm wary about them stopping working. Especially download them all and session saver, both of which I use a lot.

Taking a moment to be a proud parent. We got a letter from the school this morning that said Corey has been identified by his subject teachers as gifted and talented, which means he's in the top 5% of his year group. Add in his 100% attendance record and no lates and man, I'm so thrilled with him.

In the not so good news. Kayleigh got the sack today, and the whole situation is pissing me off because I firmly believe if she was ten years older, male and straight they wouldn't have done a thing. She's got three months to get out of the flat and they've said she can stay on as a barmaid, but after the crap they've pulled I'd tell them where they could stick their offer.

To end on something more fun. I was playing around with wordle and plugged in my last two tagged stories. I think my preferences are showing *g*

I love wordle. It's the best

I've been using Firefox 3 for over a month now (I had the beta vesion) and most of the add ons have been updated. :D Now that it's officially released and no longer in beta, I suspect the add ons will start updating a lot faster.

Go Corey!!

What is wordle?

Yay for Corey!

And, anything that has CHRIS and LAMP written so largely across it is going to make me look twice (and also think, hmm, that green goes with my curtains...)

ETA: You should wordle the llamaporn...

Corey is awesome :-) And also, so is the school, for taking the time and trouble to identify the gifted pupils.

Maybe your sis should look into taking her employers to an employment tribunal? If they haven't followed the proper procedure for sacking her, especially if they have proveably discriminated against her on grounds of sex, age or orientation, she's entitled to do that.

Yay Corey! That's awesome.

I downloaded Firefox 3.0 yesterday, but was afraid to install it just like you were. I don't even have a lot of addons, but new versions of software is always an iffy process.

*does a happy dance for Corey* That's awesome!

is there a link you can share for this time-waster wordle?

Go Corey!
What I got from your wordle: Frank tops Mikey.

I installed FireFox 3.0 this morning. The only add on that doesn't work is the Skype Extension one, but since I don't use that so much I'm ok.

I have LJ addons, Google Toolbar, Ad blocker and Delicious Bookmarks - oh and Download Helper. I had to install an newer version of Delicious Bookmarks, but that's about it.

My fav theme (blue ice) is not compatible to 3.0 but lol I think I can live without it. ;-)

First of all: Yay, go Corey! :-D

And I've downloaded and installed Firefox3 a few hours ago and so far it works fine. Most of my favorite addons (LJ addons, downloadhelper, down them all, Scrapbook, Greasemonkey, etc.) work, too, which is great. There was just a minor problem with my Tab Mix Plus addon, but I downloaded and installed the correct version again and it works :-).

I dl'd Firefox 3 last night because I'd pledged, and I admit that the lack of add-on upgrades was making me moan. Dammit, BOTH themes I wanted were unavailable. *grin* Also, I'd like to figure out how to turn off a few options, but I'm sure I will.

I was just talking about Firefox 3 to [livejournal.com profile] enigel and telling her that, even though I was tempted, I was going to wait till I decided to take the plunge, ie wait for others to do it before me so that I can listen to them either rave or rant about it and decide then whether I want to follow lol

Thing is, like you I have a number of add-on that I don't want to lose plus my favourite theme so, just in case, I'm waiting...

Hee, I'd almmost forgotten the important part omg! Congratulations to Corey, such great news. Though I'm so not surprised :-)

I'm so sceptical - I never install a new version of something until there's been at least one "fixit" version released. (And that of course gives any addons etc time to get updated too :-)

Go Corey!! And yay! what a great school he's attending, doing things like this!

That really, really sucks for your sister!

I've just finished the Black Parade AU and felt in need of something less heavy to read and the worldet made it look like this :-)

I tried Firefox once upon a time and just couldn't seem to get the hang of it. I'm doomed to follow IE forever, I fear! lol

Congratulations about Corey! That's absolutely outstanding! You have every right to be a proud parent! I wish him all the successes out there! How very exciting!

Love those creations! I'm sort of inclined to check out that site. Very cool, indeed!

And thank you for asking about me in one of your comments. I'm doing okay. Just had a moment that things seemed a bit out of control. I do appreciate you checking, though! *hugs*

That's so wonderful about Corey! You have every right to be proud of him. :)

God, Kayleigh's been having such a horrible run of it :(

YAY for Corey! He's becoming an awsome young man!

[identity profile] ephemera.livejournal.com 2008-06-19 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
God, poor Kayleigh - what a nightmare! She really should consult the CAB / find a lawyer who could tell her if she has a fightable case, because - she deserves better than how she's been treated.

And yay Corey! That's excellent news, both that he's doing so well, and that the school's picked up on it and will be doing stuff to help stretch him and keep him engaged.

I'm sorry about your sister though. I hope she'll find something way more awesome soon.

Congratulations to Corey, and to the excellent mother raising him!

Sorry to hear about your sister's woes though. :(
