Has anyone downloaded Firefox 3 yet? I'm tempted but have so many add ons that I'm wary about them stopping working. Especially download them all and session saver, both of which I use a lot.

Taking a moment to be a proud parent. We got a letter from the school this morning that said Corey has been identified by his subject teachers as gifted and talented, which means he's in the top 5% of his year group. Add in his 100% attendance record and no lates and man, I'm so thrilled with him.

In the not so good news. Kayleigh got the sack today, and the whole situation is pissing me off because I firmly believe if she was ten years older, male and straight they wouldn't have done a thing. She's got three months to get out of the flat and they've said she can stay on as a barmaid, but after the crap they've pulled I'd tell them where they could stick their offer.

To end on something more fun. I was playing around with wordle and plugged in my last two tagged stories. I think my preferences are showing *g*

Corey is awesome :-) And also, so is the school, for taking the time and trouble to identify the gifted pupils.

Maybe your sis should look into taking her employers to an employment tribunal? If they haven't followed the proper procedure for sacking her, especially if they have proveably discriminated against her on grounds of sex, age or orientation, she's entitled to do that.

I'm very impressed with the school. It had a terrible reputation a while back, but since it turned into a sports college it's become much better. The communication is first rate and they're always adding new things. Like email communication as well as written.

I'm going to suggest that Kay takes some kind of action, because they've been really underhand for a while now. The only thing is she was sacked for a real mistake. She'd left the safe keys on the bar, walked up to her flat, remembered while she was doing so, came back down and got them. But one of the committee men saw them unattended and that was that.

What gets me is a few weeks ago money was stolen from the safe. It was found out it was one of the committee men who'd taken it, but because he said he'd pay it back he's been allowed to stay on the committee.

Did they follow the proper disciplinary procedure for dismissing her? If they didn't, then they're at fault.

Does she have any proof about the committee person stealing the money? If she does (like someone else who'd be willing to say that it's true) then she might have a very good case for discrimination.

In either case, it might be worth talking to the CAB or someone, to see what they think.
