I approve of waking up to blistering hot Frank/Mikey not!fic comments from [livejournal.com profile] mikeyway_daily members. Very much so. ETA: Like magic actual fic has just arrive in my in-box. Stars. In. My. Eyes!

I have final beta back on the fic that won't end, which means that very soon it will end, and actually be posted. My betas deserve so much praise for this story. They've read, and re-read and called me on the bad bids, of which there were many. Who knew that what was supposed to be a simple story of pre-school teacher Bob would cause so much angst?

Snow Fairy is back at Lush! Also, the Christmas range is out. I want it all, apart from the shower jelly. I can't get away with that stuff somehow.

It's pomegranate season, I was eating one last night, and after a disaster where instead of the pin method I decided to sort of fold the pomegranate inside out after being cut into quarters, which resulted in seeds flying everywhere, I wondered how people ate their pomegranates?

I also started to read though my tabbed fic last night. There's so much it's scary.

James is off today so soon we're heading out to buy groceries, and also take the in-laws shopping. Where there will be magazine buying. Oh yes there will.

Thinking of, and in weird dream is weird moment. Dreaming about reading the Kerrang interview is understandable, that the photoshoot consisted of Mikey wearing the chest piece of a Stormtrooper outfit, not so much.

I need to get out of my pjs and do something productive. Maybe another cup of coffee first though.

I was showed a different way to eat pomegranates- smush the pomegranate so that the juice pockets break around the seeds, and then make a small break in the skin and drink the juice. It seemed to work.

Such hot comment!fic in MWD!!

In other news, I am working from home today, so maybe I can catch up on email, journals, and writing. We'll see.

I have to say that yes, I do find it quite hilarious that you can happily write epics of doom and gloom fic but when you're supposed to write a nice, fluffy preschool-teacher!Bob story you get stuck forever :-) But it's finished now, wheeeee!!

But why would anyone want to smell like bubblegum and candyfloss???! My teeth ache just thinking about it :-P

I've never eaten pomegranates, are they nice?

Good luck with your fic reading. Don't miss my two help_pakistan stories, they're both awesome in completely different ways.

I haven't read the article yet and I'm dreading it a bit - light text on dark is never easy for me to read and even less so when it's as tiny as it is in those scans. If I'm lucky someone else will have posted much larger scans before I have the time to sit down and actually do it.

LOL! That sounds like a very fuckedup photoshoot!

But is glitter really that much of a bonus in a bath product? Do I really want to be all glittery after I've taken a bath?!

The other one is a Gabe/Gerard story too, but much more serious. It's got a fabulous Gabe POV and lovely atmosphere and mood. It's the one with the crossdressing singer Gerard/club manager Gabe 1930s setting.

I just saw that transcript, it made me so happy!

Oh yes, much better to wait and post them all at once. And YES PLEASE, of course I want a Gerard cover if possible :-D You're a total doll to do this for me!! *squishes you*

I don't have any real ~technique for eating pomegranates. I just quarter them and put a big towel over my lap and dig the seeds out with my fingers. It is kind of messy!

[giggles a really lot]

Seriously, some of these latest pictures crack me up. Gerard: blank. Mikey: blank. Ray: blank. Frank: TATTOOS OMG TATTOOS EVERYWHERE. It's like he just gave up on anyone else in the band helping him live the proper Rock God lifestyle and decided to get all of their tattoos as well as his own.

I hope you know I just flailed disgracefully at my monitor, and then had to sit with my hands over my mouth a while.

Frank/Mikey are the pairing I love most above all other and you wrote them so beautifully.

Frank takes his Rock God status seriously! And I imagine he'll soon have more tattoos for his daughters.

[identity profile] shinetheway.livejournal.com 2010-10-06 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
The entire goal and purpose of writing fic, in my opinion, is to make people flail like that. So I am absolutely and utterly thrilled that you liked it. I'm the one flailing now, too. [grins happily] Frank/Mikey's growing on me lately for some reason, although I can't find much of it. Their love is just so roommatey. :)

And Frank is totally srs bzns about being a Rock God! Because god knows Gerard utterly fails at it even though he does give it a good shot on account of being a complete and utter geek, and Ray's too busy being a music genius to properly get into the decadent cautionary-tale aspect of rock, and Mikey is...well, let's just say that anyone who posts pictures of their cats wearing bunny suits does not get to call himself a god of anything, ever. Except maybe a Dork God. Frank has nobly assumed the responsibility to hold up their end of the crazy rock'n'roll lifestyle stereotype.

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. :D
ext_1650: (Frank read)

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2010-10-06 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had many a moan about the lack of Frank/Mikey. Thankfully as I do write it myself I don't feel hypocritical doing so *g*

But they fit so well together! Write them people, make me happy!

Mikey the dork god, hee! I do like the idea of Frank the Rock God. Really, he's the perfect man for the job.

Hmmm... must check out hot comment!fic STAT.

Pomegranate: I cut it in half and eat the layers of the seeds that are exposed, pulling them out with my fingernails. And then I pull up the layer of "honeycombish-thing" that is cock blocking me from the rest of the juicy interior (sorry, I know, that's kinda het of me) and then voila! Another group of seed chambers is revealed, and I continue like so. God, I love that fruit. I tell a fairy tale every year to my daughters about a greedy king who kept his treasured rubies locked away, and the clever locksmith who steals them and casts a magic spell on them, hiding them in a fruit so that anyone who is hungry can have access to the kings rubies by going to the pomegranate grove in the forest and eating them...then I cut the first pomegranate open---the first of the season--and reveal the "rubies."

I had a dream that I went to a fan meet up where Jamia was going to bring the twins to meet the fans. I LOVE HER. So your Mikey storm trooper dream can be friends with my Jami twins dream (that took place in a grocery store. idek.)

And my local bookshop is made of fail:

me: Um, do you get Kerang here?
bookshop woman: We sometimes do, used to...not sure.
me: I am looking for the issue that is out today.
her: yeah, try back on, like, friday.
me: don't MAKE ME PUT YOU IN A KORSE-STYLE DEATH GRIP or use my MWay power glove on you!!!
her: oh. Well. um, manager?

It is delicious!

I love that you tell pomegranate fairy tale stories, and the one you do tell is gorgeous. I especially like the reveal at the end.

It makes a lot of sense eating the seeds using your fingernails, so much so that I wonder why I've never tried that way instead of sticking with teeth or a pin.

She deserves to have a power glove used on her! She doesn't sound helpful at all.

I am SO behind on my fic reading it isn't even funny anymore! But hot damn commentfic nom nom nom.

Lush is such an addiction for me. I am physically restraining myself from clicking that link to the Xmas range because I will be suddenly poor!

Fandom getting busy is amazing, but sometimes it leaves you running behind big time.

It's so easy to spend ridiculous amounts of money in Lush. When I go to get my moisturiser I have to ration myself to one bubble bath bar or bath bomb or else I'd be bankrupt.

I bought my bottle of snow fairy yesterday! So far it hasn't migrated as far as the bathroom, it is still on my desk and I keep taking a moment to have a good sniff. So much love for lush, omg. I have one of the Halloween bath bombs, too, it looks gorgeous. They're celebrating Day of the Dead there.

I'm jealous!

I managed to get my hands on some Snow Fairy a few months back as part of a charity drive they were doing, and I tried to ration it out as best I could but sadly I've been snow fairy'less for a while now.

I'll have to go to the nearest shop asap and check out the Halloween stuff.

Yay you! I am so so so excited that the pre-school teacher Bob fic is nearly ready for me to read! ::waits impatiently::

Also: I have never ever eaten a pomegranate. Well, actually, that's a lie; I have eaten pomegranate, but only after it's been dissected and prepared and put into various dishes by chefs and other highly trained professionals. I've never just bought and eaten a pomegranate, though - in fact, I only have vague ideas about what a pomegranate looks like, since I don't think I've ever seen one in anything but, like, illuminated art or something. They look vaguely like giant rosehips, right?

(I'm aware this makes me sound like some kind of fruit philistine. I know what a Jackfruit looks like! And Soursops! And other exotic tropical fruit!)

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2010-10-06 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I've just posted. Hopefully it's worth getting excited about.

They do look like giant rosehips, yeah. But I wouldn't call you a fruit philistine, especially as I don't know what those two fruits you mention look like.

Mmm, grannypommets!

I cut pomegranates in half, then carefully peel away the skin, pulling the seeds out in the natural segments they break up into. Then I peel away all the pith and thin skin, then pull the seeds away from the pith that holds the segments together, so I have a plateful piled up with lovely bright red glowing seeds. (Then I wash my hands, which are all yellow and sticky and covered in bitter juice from the pith. Eugh.)

Then I take my plate of seeds and eat them with a spoon.

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2010-10-06 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
See, this is where I'm going wrong as I'm too impatient. I always attack my pomegranates with a pin or my teeth, and end up with a mouthful of that bitter pith stuff.

Obviously I need to do more prep.
nopseud: (Default)

[personal profile] nopseud 2010-10-06 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds fiddly, but actually it's pretty quick because once you get going, the pomegranate naturally breaks up into the smaller segments, and the segments themselves are pretty easy to break up, too.

Moon Verse has made me like Mikey/Frank soooo much...but I still like Mikey/Jon(rare pairing is rare yo)

Pomegranates, oooo how I like thee but haven't been around you since 6th grade. Our science teacher was talking about something and cut open some and we all got some and dude awesome fruit...I'm just too lazy to buy one and figure out how to open and eat it.

yayy for lots of fic to read through(I plan on reading yours tonight when I get home from work)

interesting dream(I can't remember mine for once because I kept waking up with ideas for Moon Verse sequel, my spook me fic*which wants to be spencer/brendon*, and my apoca bb*which will probably be a weird pairing and just wants to add more people*) my brain would stop spinning, it was completely redic.

Mikey/Jon is a pairing of win! But now I need to read your fic even more.

Pomegranates are so tasty, but so fiddly to eat. There should be a lazy version that comes pre-opened.

I bet it was ridic with all that spinning around in it. Also, interesting.
