Claiming at
no_tags was nerve-racking. I didn't get the prompt I had my eye on, but did get one that's very workable. Also, so many amazing prompts are on there. I can't wait to read them.
Corey went back to school yesterday and James to work. Corey also asked if I'd get him up at half six from now on so he'd have time to do his hair. Half six. It's only half an hour before I get up anyway, but that 6 instead of a 7 makes it feel like the middle of the night. Still, it does let me get a jump on the day, get James' bait ready before he gets up. Who knows, with this time I may actually get caught up online at some point.
I found the below in a draft email ( I always write posts in email and then copy/paste them to DW/LJ ) and wondered why it was there for a few moments, then remembered that some people had an addition to their writing meme that asked what 5 scenes from their fic they'd like to see illustrated.
Tints verse -- Frank in gum boots, dungarees and coloured bangs. Gerard drawing as he's sitting on sink
When Day Is Night Alone - Kitchen scene where Pete's sitting on counter, Mikey standing between his legs. Brendon making snow angel with Jon watching. Brendon getting his hoodie in the clothes room.
Sound Tracking -- Gerard reaching out to Mikey in the cage when they first find him. Frank in zero gravity. Bob in the pilot seat of his craft
Standing on the Grave on Dreams -- Everyone sitting on house steps as Gerard shows off his drawings. Ryan getting to pick from Frank's books, also, very much cheating but in the story I'm writing now from that verse Ryan spends a lot of time reading in a window seat. I have that picture in my mind very clearly.
Sing the Revolution -- Gerard dressing Mikey
Which is obviously way beyond 5 scenes, but those were the ones that popped into my head. Especially the first and last.
In other writing news. My MCR/Bob killjoys GSF is now at 35k with 5 scenes left to write. But more importantly, there is now S in the GSF, S that I'm actually pretty proud of. Finish that during this week and no_tags at the weekend. That's doable, yes? /o\

My suggestion is -- if Corey is old enough to want an extra half hour to do his hair, he's old enough to get himself up. Get him a cheap alarm clock, and he can be up and in control of the bathroom while you get that extra 30 minutes of sleep. If he sleeps through the alarm -- he's still in bed when you wake up at your normal time -- then his hair only gets combed that day, not "done".
But then, I'm a mean older sister. ;)

I don't want him to be late for school, but at the same time, I'd like my half hour back. That way if he does sleep through all that'll happen is a lack of hair straightening.
I like your idea a lot. Thanks for that.

You're welcome. I didn't see the comment above -- that Corey and James sleep through alarms. But if he wants his hair straightened bad enough, he'll learn to pay attention to the alarm. And he'll have a useful skill for when he's out on his own.
