I've seen more of my sister these last few days than I have for ages. She was here until midnight a few days ago and today she's been here four times already. Her first visit this morning she was still wearing her pjs and eating her toast when she arrived. It's good she only lives a few doors away.

It's been a gorgeous day today, I was hoping to go for a drive to the beach once James got home from work but he's late so its not to be. Shame, it was lovely to see the sun again. Corey's gone out with his friends and man, does it take effort to find out where and who with. I ask and he just keeps saying he's going out, but I told him unless I know where he's going and who with he was going nowhere.

A tip for you all. Using free weights right after putting on moisturiser is not a good idea. I had to hang on to those babies real tight or would have taken out a window.

I've watched the first two episodes of Southland and love it! It's such a gritty, fast paced show that kept my attention all the way through. I'm still learning the characters but want to know more about them, which I think is always a sign of a good show. If I'd have had time I would have mainlined the whole season, as it is I'm having to take them slow.

I just made chicken in black bean sauce and it was delicious! I wish I'd discovered black bean sauce before before it's really tasty. Now I just need to work out how to stop having soggy vegetables and I'm set. I may have to get the steamer out but it always seemed like yet another thing to fuss with when you could much more easily boil the veggies. Of course that then leads to eating runner beans and having water squirt out of the middle.

I wish James would hurry up from work, he's got my Avon order and I have plans for a long shower and my new peel-off face mask. They're my favourites, they indulge my need to pick at things and have the bonus of making it look like your skin is falling off in a zombie fashion.

Ha. He's back. Come to me showery peel off goodness!

It's terrible how one's relatives enroach on one's computer time ;-)

You're a terrible parent, demanding that he tells you where he's going!

Have fun in the bathroom!

Tell me about it! Yesterday Kay didn't turn up at all but Sky was down. Today it's back up and she's been here twice already!

I am the worst parent ever, wanting to know where he's going and everything :D

I did have fun in the bathroom *g*

Southland, yay!! I swear, Southland may take the place of Criminal Minds as my favorite procedural- the characters are just that good. I'm a little behind though- Season 2 episodes start tonight, and I haven't finihsed season 1 yet.

Have fun with your beauty routine- you zombie, you!

I still haven't watched more than two eps of Southland. You'd think with being offline yesterday I would have, but no.

I did have fun with my beauty routine! And now I'm off to do it again :D

I know, it's felt like the first real spring day here, too. Sunny and bright, if not exactly warm.

Your icon is so cute.

Yeah, spring seems to be arriving at last. It's been lovely here the last few days.

How are you feeling now?

[identity profile] ihearthings-ii.livejournal.com 2010-03-04 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I've felt better today, but I feel a little worse now that it's evening. Boo.

Southland is AWESOME! Season 2 starts tonight, and I truly cannot wait *bounce, bounce*

I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far. I have to say, it's nice to have episodes all piled up ready to be watched :D

That sounds like a great plan - how was it?

It was awesome!

I like face masks in general, there's something satisfying about slapping on beauty stuff and relaxing in a steamy bathroom, but the peel off ones are just cool!

Ever since I unwillingly spooked my little brother with an argyle face mask, I giggle when I do a face mask :p And I love the peel off ones! I feel like I'm in an episode of Scooby Doo or something lol

Bwa! that facial peely offy stuff *is* like being a zombie!!! Love it and the first time I used it on a night me and my sis were trying to be all girly...we both could not stop laughing.

The facial peely offy stuff is awesome for zombie impressions! It freaks James out because sometimes I'll miss some, turn around and it looks like I've a flap of skin hanging off *g*

Man, laugh away. I was after. It's such a rookie mistake to make.

I've said this before but clearly your sister = my sister. She came in last night after 11pm and wanted something to eat, and asked me to ring her doorbell on my way to school to wake her up this morning. :D

Re moisturizer: I don't know what your current routine is, but I suggest moisturizing immediately after showering/washing because it goes in easier and leaves you feeling less slippery or sticky. Of course it also depends on the type of moisturizer you use, but I've found that helps. :)

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally your sister = my sister. Kayleigh was here before nine this morning, and has been back three times since. I fully expect her to be here again before the day is over.

Well, right now I keep my moisturiser in my desk drawer and have got into the habit of applying it after breakfast, which is about an hour after washing up. The problem is I've started doing my half hour around after breakfast too, which led to the slipping issues. Most obvious solution is to take the moisturising to the bathroom, which it should have been all the time in all honesty.

[identity profile] ephemera.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
moisturiser is dangerous stuff! (albeit more likely to cause me problems in a 'bra on first, damnit!' way than in a barbell out the window kind of way!)

If the steamer is too much faff, what about microwaving the veggies, for as short a time as you can get away with, with just a little bit of water, or, if they're frozen, just the water from their own ice? That's how I do non-soggy broccoli.

[identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Moisturiser is dangerous! I have all these different kinds and it takes some planning to get them all on.

You know, I never even considered nuking them with their own ice. I microwave them anyway but suspect I'm using far too much water as I have issues about them drying up and bursting into flames. I'm going to try your method.
