I really enjoyed F9 when I saw it. Reviews said it was a film where you have to leave your brain at the door, and that's true. However, no matter how ridiculous the plot it's visually fantastic, has such a great sense of found/existing family, interesting characters and is really entertaining, which in the end is all that I want. Also, I love that

they still maintain that Brian remains in the verse. He's out there keeping the kids safe after stepping back from his former life, and enjoying what he does. He may not be seen on screen, but a chair is left out for him, he's talked about and he's on his way at the end, very much still a part of their family.

Sadly we didn't get to Mog as they had no slots left, but the plan is to try for tomorrow instead and then head off to Metrocentre after.

Thinking about Mog, I was delighted to see a cat cafe modern AU for the Musketeers, but while I enjoyed it I got caught up in no sanitising going on, which was important for cat cafes even before COVID, with hands sanitised and outdoor shoes taken off. And the fact the people could just walk in without booking. Obviously, cat cafe practices are different the world over, but I'm so used to the ones here it threw me from the story a little.

The Sunshine challenge starts soon and they've already posted the list of challenges here. I'm looking forward to seeing them explained as they're intriguing but vague right now.

Corey had his first vaccine yesterday. Originally he'd scheduled it so if he got side effects he could easily have time off. But it turns out he still went into work last night and is going in tonight. Apparently, all he's had so far is a sore arm, so hopefully, it stays that way. I'm just glad he's on the road to be fully protected as he lives and works in an area where the delta variant is skyrocketing, and of course, his job means he sees multiple people daily.

It was three years since mam died yesterday. Strange how it's been so long but still feels like yesterday on occasions.

It does seem like a brain off series, but I’m glad you enjoyed it (and sometimes that’s what you need)

Good luck getting a Mog visit

Yeah they are so vague, I’m curious

That’s good he got the jab and has only had the arm thing

*hugs you tight* I can relate to that. I hope you’re ok

I think the entire F&F series is pretty much brain optional, but the movies are so wonderful - just a great escape and so much good found family stuff.

it's good to hear that Corey's had his first shot - hopefully he won't have any problems with side-effects after the second one either!

Your cat cafe hygiene fic critique made me grin. It's funny which things our brains are happy to handwave and which things can throw us entirely out of a fic, sometimes! I've found myself getting very distracted by geographical errors on occasion even though they really didn't matter to the main plot.

Glad to hear of Corey's vaccine, that's very good news.

*hugs* for your mother's memory.

Sounds like you'd lots of fun at the movies!

I hope you managed to visit the Mog the next day!

Good to hear Corey's now partially vaccinated and that he didn't get any of the bad side effects!

*hugs you a lot*
