Kayleigh and clan are on their way home now, so my cat sitting duties are over for now. I'm looking forward to settling down this evening without knowing I need to go out and do feeds, meds etc.
Yesterday I went for myoverdue eye test and need slightly stronger reading glasses. To be honest, I hardly ever use the ones I have now but I've noticed I do actually need them sometimes so figured I'd better go have the test. Especially so as my eye twitch is back. The last time that happened was seven years ago and it was solved by a Botox injection at the eye infirmary, so I guess it's good it has lasted that long. But it's already annoying, and I'm looking at multiple months long wait for an appointment as it's not classed as a serious issue.
As the opticians is opposite Lush, it seemed wrong not to call in, so I cashed in my old recyclable Lush pots—you get 50p for each returned pot against your bill—and bought myself a Pumpkin Bubble Bar.
Today we went to sort out the cats, and had plans for a walk and maybe cinema. Then my MiL asked if James could call the hospital and tell them her CPAP machine had broken. So he did, and they said take it in, so we drove to my in laws, to the hospital and got it swapped for a one that worked. Left there and Michelle, Pauline's daughter, phoned. Pauline was at a routine hospital appointment on Wednesday when she collapsed in the hospital restaurant beforehand. They thought she was having a heart attack at first, but after tests it turns out she's torn her esophagus, though no one knows how. She was discharged today on a mainly water but also some very smooth food diet and has to go back for more tests later.
So, I went to the discharge lounge and got Pauline, had to do a diversion on the way back to hers to drop off my MiL's CPAP, dropped Pauline off home, and decided to just come home ourselves and go to the cinema tomorrow.
Ending on a happier note, Nikita and Vito are dancing together as the pro dance on Strictly this weekend. This whole video makes me happy.
