Shopping the other night was insane. Asda, in all its wisdom had decided to change the layout of the whole store, and we'd arrived as everything was being changed. It was chaos and personally I think they should have just shut the shop and got things done. Instead there were huge trolley loads of stuff being pushed everywhere and half of the shelves were blocked. Like my hot chocolate. It was there, taunting me from the shelf, but there was three huge steel trolley cage things filled with tins in front of the hot chocolaty goodness. So I had to leave it :( Then the shelves that were done had been moved different places.
Then, when we eventually got home we couldn't get the car to the back gate. If you've been around a while you'll know there's no road near my house so when we have a lot of shopping we have to drive down the pavement and park on the grass out back. Thing is they're putting new lampposts in and half of the estate is barricaded off at the moment. Not that that stopped James, he decided to drive to the front door, which meant driving our big car down a narrow gap, six foot high fences on either side. We had to do it stealthily too as no one's supposed to drive on the pavement. So it was radio turned off, carefully driving down, then all three of us almost throwing the bags of shopping into the house.
We need to go buy Mother's Day gifts tomorrow. Corey's brought home something home from school yesterday which he's got hidden in his school bag. He had to leave it today because they were supposed to be going to a tag rugby tournament so I was given strict instructions not to look inside. Coming home he asked if I'd looked, I said no and he gives me this look, and said 'Are you lying? Man, interrogated by the kidlet, and no, I hadn't looked. I think I'll get mam a couple of books. She loves all those stories based on tragic real life events, like the My Name is David series. I've no idea what to get the MiL though. Hopefully I'll have an idea before tomorrow.
I've been revisiting old stories lately and am on a Voyager kick at the moment. Paris/Kim, Chakotay/Paris. Hmmm. I've read Zonama and Janeway's Dead, Cavit's in Charge today, then for later I've Descent all ready to go. I'll need to finish the story I'm reading on Jordan at the moment first. It's a Once a Thief story, a show I've never seen, but sometimes just knowing Nicholas Lea plays one of the characters is enough to get you reading a story, especially if it's long, angsty, full of h/c and set in a prison. Good reading and a new episode of Hustle later. It has to be a good way to spend a night.
First though I need to go make tea. It was James' first time at physio and the way he's been talking on the phone he's going to be aching later. So, I'll get my boys fed and James can go to sleep on the couch. Which is what he does every night but it's the thought that counts *g*
Hmmm, James just phoned asking if we want to go to the cinema when he gets home from work. Movies or tv. What a choice. *gets ready again*
