Well, the zero vet bill lasted all of a few days.

Took Milo to get his nails cut and two of them had curled and cut into his pads, meaning he had the start of an infection, so he's on a week's worth of antibiotics and is back next Tuesday. Plus side, it was caught early before it got bad and the antibiotics only cost a little over £20 and he saw the nurse so no additional actual vet fee. His feet must have been sore though as he was hissing when they were cleaning his pads which is so unlike him

Kayleigh was there with Aboo when I left. By total coincidence, she had an appointment 15 minutes after Milo's so we had a bit of a catch up in the waiting room. Sadly Aboo, her cat, is in a bad way, her thyroid disease out of control but she's been given one last chance on a much higher dose of meds. I ache for them all, especially so soon after Mr Tumnus.

I picked up my old computer today as it has been fixed with a totally new control board and operating system. So I now have two computers. One is going upstairs for James to use in the craft room for music etc but I haven't decided which yet. It's a shame it didn't get scrapped for some shop credit, but at least I'll never be cut off from online now.

After what I said about Fannish Neice last time she pulled a disappearing trick again. She arrived Thursday and was meant to leave Monday. Plans had been made to go out for dinner with her as a family on Sunday, and my MiL and SiL were going shopping with her Monday. Friday she went to work late afternoon -- she's taking photos at a touring show -- and when she got there told them she'd been in the hospital all day with stomach pains and needed to go home down south. The reality was, she'd been with my SIL, was perfectly fine, and my MiL got to see her all of two minutes when she went back to my SIL's, got her stuff and all the presents she'd been given at Christmas and left, and hasn't talked to anyone since.

We still went out for dinner on Sunday, which led to me finding out my 7-year-old niece is now into BTS. I was able to tell her about the performance film that's at the cinema now, but as the rest of my knowledge about them is taken from what my flist posts and really not suitable for someone so young, I left it at that.

I've been watching The Great Australian Bake Off recently and enjoying it a lot. I was amused this morning when I watched British Week and the inevitable spotted dick puns. It's a nice show though and has the same supportive feel as the British version which I like.
