I survived the shopping trip, came home and found I'd been asked by _bettina_ to rant about people that don't like Chris, and you know I can do that in a very concise way.

People who don't like Chris are FRELLING INSANE!

However, I shall elaborate.

See I can't understand how anyone couldn't like him. The man is gorgeous, he's sex on legs, totally hot, breath takenly beautiful and if you can't see that you're obviously not looking hard enough. It's not hard, take a moment and look at him, look at his eyes. Tell me they're not beautiful. Tell me! You can't can you, and you know why? Because they are beautiful! In fact everything about him is beautiful, his face, his hair, his pointy ears, his lips, his goatee and man, don't get me started on people that don't like the horns or his old hair cuts because you know what? Who cares if they're different to the norm? What the fuck is normal anyway?

Which is another thing, and man this is the one thing guaranteed to set me off. He's put on weight. SO FUCKING WHAT! How dare people think that's a reason to dislike him? How dare they?! I'm spluttering with rage just thinking that anyone would chose to dislike him because of that. He's not perfect, no one is perfect. If you're an Nsync fan how can you sit and say that you don't like one of the members because he's fat? For one thing HE'S NOT FAT! For fuck's sake, he's heavier now than he was back then but all that does is make him real. He's not an artificial perfect popstar groomed to an inch of his life and made to tow the bullshit pr line. When I have the misfortune to wander somewhere where some idiotic wanker says they doesn't like Chris because he's fat I want to reach through the screen grab their stupid looking teenie head and beat it off the wall. Then do it again just for the sake of it.

Then there's the people who don't like him because he's childish and goes too far sometimes. For fucks sake. Do you really think that's all he is? The 'crazy one' the joker, a one dimensional cardboard cutout. Are you that stupid that you'll judge on an image shaped by pr spin? Look past the surface for once, see the man who cares deeply, the man who doesn't spend every moment of his life laughing and playing jokes. The man who works bloody hard to do something he loves. Go on look, except I know you won't. You'll just keep believing what you're told. Reading the same lies over and over again because you're too lazy to look past the image and stupid enough to believe what you're told. Admit it, you believe the Creation Myth don't you? You can probably even do the hand movements and diagram to accompany it. Loser.

More generally, people who don't like him because he's in a boyband. Get over yourselves. Chris can sing, he can sing beautifully and if all you haters can't see beyond the boyband label I pity you. I pity you because you're so afraid of being seen as uncool that you'll never know how talented he is.You can sit there listening to your indie music or whatever crap the so called cool kids listen to these days and mock him for being in a boyband but all you're doing is showing what a sad pathetic person you are. Someone who wouldn't know an independent thought even if it hit you in the head and yelled, 'hi, I'm an independent thought.

I could go on and on, but I'll sum up with this. If you don't like Chris you're clearly insane, and he's NOT FUCKING FAT!!!!!!!

Here here!! (or is it hear hear??) Well put. And oddly enough? It's all of that (the unique ... hair, clothes, etc) that makes him that much more appealing. His eyes are amazing. *sighs and cues sappy Debbie Gibson songs* I think it's because he dared to do the unique that caught my attention (it usually does). I totally agree with what you said, it's the unique that makes him more appealing to me too. I love that he wore his hair like that, loved the beard horns with a passion, and yeah the list of loves goes on.

There's so many things I've wanted to say, about the weight thing especially. I just hate that because he's put weight on and isn't the stick he used to be there's comments about how fat he is, and he's really not.

I agree, rants do have to be about passion or they're not rants, just statements really.

When I saw what Bettina had asked for I had the perfect excuse for a rant I've had inside for a while. I may have to do it more often ;)

But yeah, it pisses me off when anyone says they don't like any other person because of their weight, or height, or ethnic background or whatever. People are people. I thought he was adorable in the pictures from fall 2003. He's gorgeous no matter what he weighs. He's. Just. Gorgeous! He is totally sex on legs!

And OMG how sweet and caring is this guy! I loved the story someone posted a month or so back that Chris was in a toy store buying toys to donate to kids. Not that he sent money, not that he sent some hired assistant to go buy things, Chris himself was in a store picking stuff out to give to charity for kids. I love him for those things he does.

I respect anyone that has a lot of passion for any of the guys. Don't smack me, but I have teased Chris before about his fluctuating weight before. They've always been in jest, so, I never really ever thought that they were ever done in a mean-spirited way.

That's the thing though about celebrity. If you're in the public eye, there will always be people out there that will ridicule you for anything, and everything.

But these are all the things that make me like the guy so much more. He's not perfect and thank God! My love grew for him after his TX stint. I absolutely love his voice. He's so talented in many ways and you can just tell the guy has a good heart.

And let's not forget, I really, really, love Chris in some of my slash. Really.

Oh I totally don't mean people like you.

I've seen your comments about his weight and can tell it's exactly that, teasing and not mean. My rant came from seeing people who say how disgusting he is now because he's put on weight. How they dislike him because he's nothing but a joking idiot. Those people really annoy me and I want to smack them. However, all I do is surround myself with people I like and respect, that don't use his faults as a weapon to be cruel.

I'm not blind to the fact that he's put on weight,I also understand that being a celebrity means he's out there for anyone to take pot shots at. I understand that but I don't like it.

However, like I said I can tell the difference between teasing and meanness so no smacking from me and I really hope you didn't think I was targetting you.

But thank you for coming in and telling me what you like about him, that's always a good thing to see :)

Wow, I really couldn't agree with you more. I've always adored Chris, he's beautiful, charming, funny, incredibly talented and about a billion other things.

I can kinda relate this to another one of my favorite groups, namely Linkin Park. Joe Hahn (the DJ) has put on weight and people are saying they don't like him because of that. Why? I mean so what if Chris or Joe put on weight? They're still the same wonderful people they've always been.

Anyway, that rant was great and I wholeheartedly agree with you on everything. *nods*

I love Linkin Park too but aren't in the fandom, which is a good because seeing the weight thing in relation to Joe too would piss me off. People's obsession with how people look amazes me, it shouldn't matter but to somehow to some people it always does.
