There's actually a lot of nice twists on the trope. I haven't been recently but I know there were two good Gerard/Mikey stories posted, maybe check them out, you could always click away if they still hit your squick.

Both the Waycest stories managed to not trip my squick! I tried the NASA story too but it had just too much of the classical trope. But I did get two stories out of it at least so that made me very happy.
