It's such a lovely day today. Blue skies, sunshine but not too hot. Not that I'm going far, it's mam's birthday so we're heading there later, but as she lives a minutes walk up the road it's not much of a journey.

My sister has been offered a house so will be swapping the flat they've been living in for a much bigger place. It's another step towards being able to foster, something Kay and Kay have been working toward for a while now.

I posted my wave 3 on Friday. I still laugh at myself at posting something with a main pairing of Brendon/Spencer. Not because I don't like the pairing, just it's not what I usually write at all. The whole story is based on a meme response from ages ago where I said I could imagine the Ways running a diner with a blackboard wall where people could leave messages. And from that this story appeared. Not that it wanted to be written easily. Until a week before deadline I was torn between two stories, adding words to both. The one I eventually posted and a Mikey/Pete where Mikey is a nurse and Pete himself, the front man of FOB. I had that one all planned out, still do in fact, but the diner AU won simply because it was easier to finish in the time I'd left myself.

I have to say, being deadline free right now feels great. I'm sure the holiday exchanges will be starting soon, and you know I'll be joining the bandom version. Until then, though, nothing but wips and working on a few h/c bingo fills.

I've started to chip away at my backlog of tabbed stories. So some recs as I slip on my mini Turlough hat.

Write What You Know Pete/Gabe. -- by romanticalgirl I really enjoyed this, and Jake the kid oc was adorable and written very realistically. I liked how Gabe and Pete came together, and of course how Pete was such good friends with Mikey.

Won't Know 'til You Begin Frank/Mikey. I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed reading this. Set roomie days, with Mikey exploring his sexuality and enjoying kinky sex, while Frank falls for him. It's just. So. Much. Love. Seriously, I read this last night and when I woke up had to go read again. It hits so many things that I love.

And Never Go Home by inlovewithnight Mikey/Gabe/Travis. A coda to her Gabe/Mikey bbb, and something hot as all hell.

How is the weather now? We've had a streak of beautiful sunny days with no rain for ages. It's amazing.

We've had quite sunny weather too, but it's been a bit chilly and also very windy so it hasn't been quite as nice as it could have. Still, a little sunshine is so much better than none at all!

I'm taking a way slower pace reading the Wave 3's I placed in my TBR pile (including yours). Possibly so that I have enough new fic to enjoy til the Holiday ficathons. I mean, it's not as we'll ever run out of stories to enjoy (even if you're monofanish when it comes to fic reading--something I'm not). But still, I don't feel the hustle-hustle-hustle to finish all the Wave 3's (I'm interested in reading) in one afternoon.

September's been rather glorious that way. *g* I'd initially planned to write H/C bingo and Cottoncandy Bingo fills all month long. However, I thought it'd be better to chill back and recharge my batteries.

Of course, then the prompt meme came around. *facepalms* So I've been quietly writing promp fills here and there. Hopefully the rest will be posted this weekend.

So then, October will be the Bingo-fills month for me. :P

In any case, I'm really curious to read Nowhereville. Since it's, you know, a fic YOU WROTE, I'm expecting some angst and a little bit of HURT/comfort and Mikeyway being awesome. Gotta say, part of my curiosity is the pairing choice. Hmm... *quirks an eyebrow*

That actually is a good plan to slow down your reading and just wallow without the worry of getting through a pile of stories. I should say that's what I'm doing instead of being a failboat and letting everything pile up *g*

This wave is a much slower reading pace for me. Last time I had a bunch that I was desperate to read asap, while this time I'm just ambling my way through the masterlist. I like it that way, tbh.

Chilling out with no writing has been great. Though I signed up for mininano again so know next month I'll be pushing to make my 300 word daily pledge. Which is doable I know but being lazy for the last month means I really need to start writing something on a regular basis. Otherwise it'll be going from 0 to 100 which is never good.

My plans pretty much match yours, getting some bingo fills done and finish those trope ficlets. I'm stuck on the F/M crossdressing one which is ridiculous as it's two things that I love. Ah well, I'm sure it'll come to me.

Nowehereville is angst and h/c free. I hardly know myself! I'm still surprised at the main pairing myself, it just happened so I decided to go with it. I guess everyone needs one deviation from the norm *g*
