turpsI've been working my way through the trope meme, and so far have completed
Mikey/Ryan -- pretending to be married.
Frank/Mikey -- bodyswap.
Gerard/Mikey -- amnesia.
Mikey/Ray -- secretly a virgin.
Gabe/Gerard -- huddling for warmth.

a_damn_miracle
It's starting to turn autumn like in these parts. The nights are much cooler and once we've picked all the beans I think we'll need to pull up the bean plants. No more getting attacked by leaves as I go outside to the bins.
It was dad's birthday yesterday so we went to see him. He was having a good day and looked so much better than the last time we'd seen him. He even laughed a few times which was so great to see.
Last week I went to hospital with mam to get her one year check-up. She was expecting to be in and out with maybe a scan, instead we were there for hours while James stayed in the car to sleep as he was in the middle of his night shift rotation at the moment. Anyway, she's been discharged, so that's great. The last step away from the nightmare of last year.
After we'd left the clinic mam decided she'd pop in and see a friend who was in hospital, so she went to find out what ward she was in, and of course it was right at the other side of the hospital. Which is when this lovely lady offered to show us the way, which, great. Except this lovely lady was all of 18 and moved like the road runner. By the time we got to the ward I was doing my best tomato impression, and even more so when we had to turn around and go back when we found out mam's friend was off having tests.
It's been a busy week with one thing and another. I'm way behind in fic reading, including trope meme responses I prompted for and startedannemari excellent wave 3 and then haven't had the chance to finish it, which sucks.
Finally, The Great British Bake Off remains the most amazing of TV shows. It had everything last night, drama, suspense, awesome looking puddings. It's my favourite right now.

At least you got a lot of exercise that day?
It's very sad when you don't even have time to read your own prompt fic. I really hope the rest of the week will be less busy for you.

Date: 2012-09-22 12:00 pm (UTC)It was lovely to see him looking so well. Though I do feel bad for him as two of his partner's adult kids are living with them. It's a tiny bungalow so one son has the spare room and the other is sleeping on a blow up bed in the hall. He should have time to chill with Pauline now, not put up with that.
Yeah, that's true *g*
Well, the rest of the week was but I'm having a lazy weekend, so that's great.

Date: 2012-09-19 06:00 pm (UTC)James is awesome, and I love Sarah Jane simply because she makes me laugh with her woe faces and comments of doom and gloom, but I have to admit I like them all except Brendan. He's just too smug for my taste. I get really sad when any of them leave. It's like losing a new friend, they need to stay and make delicious cakes always.
Oh, and Mary Berry terrifies me. She's fantastic.
