turpsIt was James' birthday yesterday. His rather optimistic plans were that we'd go shopping at Metrocentre with the the Kays, come home, put up the Christmas tree and then go out for dinner. What actually happened was, we did go shopping, after hours of too-hot, too-many people everywhere we got home early evening. Got the decorations out, put up one window worth of lights, and realised if we stated the tree we'd be up far too late considering he was at work first thing. So, the boxes were shoved to the side and we ordered in Chinese food, and no lie, it was delicious.

Right, the slow cooker is cooking away with stuff for tea, breakfast has been eaten and the cats fed, so I'm off to wrestle the Christmas tree.

I'm so jealous of people who put their Christmas trees up early, we usually do it a couple of days before the 24th. Then again, if we put it up now it would probably be all out of...needles? Those. By actual Christmas. :D

Yeah, that would be an issue if you had a real tree. We did used to get a mini real tree for the hall, but haven't for a while. Which is a shame as they smell so lovely.

Good luck with the tree! We used to wait until school was out, these days it's at some point after my birthday - and when it's not too hot! (This can result in delays.)

Date: 2012-12-03 02:24 am (UTC)I try to avoid all malls and big department stores as soon as December rolls around. People tend to get a little, erm, intense in their shopping. So I need to get ALL THE SPOONS before I step into one of those places. O_o!
That pic was a delightful surprise from the universe (via Alicia's twitter) because it's so sweet and candid and Bunny snoozing next to Mikeyway and the bed sheet (which, iirc, happens to be for children's bedding? It's out of stock though.) NGL, I spent some time staring at the curve of Mikeyway's butt and back. He looks zonked out. Awww.

Seriously, we did Toys R Us which was bad enough, then went to the main mall, and it was rammed. If it wasn't for chilling at a cafe with a frozen drink for a while I'd have gone into melt down. Physically and mentally.
I love that you looked for that bedding. It is adorable though -- whales \o/ - and yes, I may have taken a moment or two to admire the line of Mikey's body >:)
