I've been listening to CW3 this morning, and man, I love 'The Light Behind Your Eyes' so much. It's been a while since a song grabbed me so fast and so hard, but this one has. I've seen a few people say this set doesn't sound like MCR, and I get why they do say that, but I enjoyed both, and loved TLBYE beyond measure.
I submitted stuffsit last night. As I can't say it on the story without giving myself away,
themoononastick is all kinds of amazing and I love that she'll always beta for me when I ask. She's the best ever ♥
I got a parcel from
sperrywink one that contained beautiful Christmas ornaments. Thank you so much, Kimberly. All the hearts for you ♥ And for
turlough too, as a parcel from her has just arrived. That one is under the tree, though, as it's wrapped.
I've also got Christmas cards from lots of people, and have delighted in every one. Thank you

You all make me so happy, you don't even know ♥
picfora1000 is open for sign ups again! If you don't know, this is a challenge where you're given a picture prompt and have to write a story in exactly 1000 words. Everyone that's been around for a while, turn off now while I explain yet again why I love this challenge so much. It's one I've taken part in for many years now, going back to my popslash days even. It's also the challenge that made me post my first official bandom story back in the day, one which was focussed on Mikey and Gerard. Since then I've had my own personal challenge to only write a story containing those two, just as a nod to that first story. It's fun, even if the results are sometimes interesting *g*
We went Christmas shopping with mam on Thurs, and see, when she's not drinking mam is the most amazing, generous person, and those good days are the reason we put up with the bad. It was busy, but not so much so that we got stressed. Presents were bought and delicious drinks were had. We talked and laughed and drove around and finished the day visiting Kay and Kay for a while.
Completely randomly, mam decided she'd buy us a pod coffee machine on top of what she'd bought us for individual presents, so we'll be getting that next week -- she did offer to give us it then, but I have a thing about not opening presents before Christmas. She also bought us the meat for Christmas dinner. It's something she does every year, but usually I just get a turkey and pork joint from Iceland, as they come ready prepared to just shove in the oven. This year she bought from a butcher that goes around the pubs, and spent a ridiculous amount of money on a turkey crown that's so huge it has to have come from a mutant turkey, and a silverside beef joint that could easily be cut into four smaller joints, each one feeding multiple people. I don't know how to cook that! I can see much Googling of recipes going on in my future.
What I didn't do that day was post the last of my parcels, even though I walked around Sunderland all day with them sticking out of the top of my bag. Fail self. Sigh.

Date: 2012-12-15 06:42 pm (UTC)I'm glad to hear you'd a good day with your mam.
Lots of good luck with the cooking!
The same thing happens to me far too often. What is it with letters/parcels that makes them impossible to remember?!
I knew I forgot something!
I would have been very disappointed in you if you hadn't signed up for picfor1000 ;-)

Date: 2012-12-16 07:32 am (UTC)Yeah, it was a good day, but man, the cooking. It doesn't help that James is at work all over Christmas so I'm doing everything solo.
How I forgot the parcels I don't know. They didn't fit in my bag so were sticking out of the top, and yet I still didn't head for the post office.
Pocfor1000. I love that challenge so much. It always eases me into the writing year nicely.

With the amount she spent on that meat I'm going to spend Christmas day hovering in the kitchen in case I burn them *g*

Date: 2012-12-16 07:26 am (UTC)I'm intimidated by the cooking! I've cooked Christmas dinner fine for years, but never a joint like that *g*

Date: 2012-12-18 05:53 pm (UTC)Oh man, that meat. It's hidden in the freezer at the moment. Out of sight out of mind.

Date: 2012-12-18 05:39 am (UTC)It's wonderful that you had such a good day together on Thursday. (although I wasn't in that same situation) I think sometimes all we can do is be glad for every good day. Good luck with the meat! I would have NO IDEA where to even start.

Date: 2012-12-18 05:52 pm (UTC)And yeah, the good days should always be celebrated and enjoyed.
As for the meat. I'm trying not to think about it.

Date: 2013-02-25 03:40 am (UTC)I'm actively trying to get my picfor1000 done by the deadline. It's only 1k words BUT I had some hardcore problems figuring out the pic I got. Still, I'm somewhat confident that I'll get enough of a fic to post it. :)
