I hit a wall shopping wise earlier this week. We'd been out and about for days in a row and due to James working, had to go out again and get everything done that day. It was hot and crowded in the shops but there was a severe weather warning for rain and wind, so I was cold and wet and trying to control Corey's poster frame that wanted to act as a sail when we got outside.
There was a respite when I stood and watched a local special needs school signing/signing Christmas songs, which was great, and then later, while we ate dinner in the car while parked up at the beach watching the waves crash over the pier. But after that it was two more supermarkets and then carrying mam's stuff to her house and then our stuff into ours.
Got back, and saw that all the rain had caused a leak in the hall and water was dripping through the light fitting. A bucket under that and I got to listen to drip, drip, drip as I was playing freezer tetris and trying to get everything stowed away. At that point I was done.
However, on the plus side. All gifts are bought and wrapped. Food shopping is done with the last arriving via online delivery late this afternoon. Cards and packages have been sent and apart from tidying the tip, we're pretty much set. James' one day off is tomorrow, but he's doing a bag pack with the scouts during the day, so I'll sort the presents out then, and we'll go on a delivery run on the night.
And in fact the delivery has just come, so I'd better go and put all that stuff away and then make the broth considering the veggies are finally here.
But first. Stuffsit has started posting \o/

Date: 2012-12-22 08:36 pm (UTC)It really sucks about the leak. This is sooo not the season to get leaks!
I hope the broth turned out well.

Date: 2012-12-30 03:48 pm (UTC)Thankfully the leak seems to have fixed itself, and the broth was really tasty. Maybe a bit more liquid was needed, but the taste was spot on.

Date: 2012-12-23 05:24 am (UTC)Dinner in front of the waves sounds terrific though. (and I have to admit, "freezer tetris" made me laugh with how accurate it is, though I know it's not fun in action.)

Date: 2012-12-30 03:33 pm (UTC)Freezer tetris fits so well. But yeah, not so much fun when you're playing it.
