I haven't had a real update for a while, so I guess I should catch up.

Before anything else though. I want to thank some people for their holiday cards. Thank you to musiquedevie ( I would have known that card was from you even without the name *g* ), msktrnanny, sylvaine and rubytuesday5681 You're all fantastic ♥

Fannish stuff. Stuffsit writers have been revealed. I wrote Of My Days In the Sun for akamine_chan, the Mikey/Alicia/Pete story where Pete is secretly a virgin. That's one of the things Aka said she liked in her sign up post, and for some reason it jumped out at me. I emailed a few people thrashing out ideas and then decided to go for it. While it wasn't widely read at all, I like the story and am proud of it. I took care to try and explain just why Pete hadn't taken that last step and had full sex, and to show that Alicia wanted into the threesome just as much as Mikey, because stories where the wives join in just to make their husbands happy always annoy me.

I posted my picfor1000 story Of My Days In the Sun completing my personal annual challenge to write a Mikey/Gerard story for that challenge. Again, I like this one, but it seems I should have put a tissue warning first. Which reminds me, I haven't actually posted it at the comm yet. I need to change that.

No Tags is happening and I need to think of my prompts ready for tomorrow.

First BBB post of the season went out.

So many great things in the works.

Real life wise. We had a nice new year, seeing the new year in by having a Walking Dead marathon and then heading off to bed once we'd watched the fireworks and head Big Ben on tv.

Since then I've had a cold that's finally starting to ease off. Then nanna fell hurting herself -- she was putting on her slippers and managed to fall, flipping onto her back. It's the first time she's ever sounded old to me. I know she is in her mid 90s, I never forget that, but she never sounds it -- thankfully she's still home even if she is in a lot of pain. Then James was sent home from work because of his back.

He has a curve in his spine and the doctor wasn't sure if that was the issue, but yesterday he went to see her again and she sent him straight to A&E as she thought something serious could be going on. A lot of tests and he was sent home with a sick note for the week. Which is good as with the holidays he was due to start next week, means he's got nearly a month to rest up. I suspect the doctor reacting like she did is that she doesn't really understand his disability. Arthrogriphoisis is pretty rare, and his joints/ligaments/bones are so messed up that it's hard to make a diagnosis when it comes to certain things. But yeah, the last thing I expected was to be hanging around A&E again yesterday.

Apart from that, things are going just fine.

Some people, like your nanna, are just superpowered, and it's hard to imagine them slowing down ever! I hope she feels better soon. James, too! You guys get another week of hangouts? K just went back to work on monday; I was kinda done with hangouts, tbh. :P He was having back probs too, but no underlying other issues compounding it aside from scoliosis, maybe? He had physical therapy over xmas break and it seems to have resolved *fingers crossed*. We are all getting old and falling to pieces. :P

Your Alicia & Pete & Mikey story sounds awesome! The wives in it for the dudes always made me roll my eyes, too.

I've got another two weeks of hangs with James, he keeps asking why I leave him in bed in the mornings and I tell him it's because I need some peace during the day *g*

Wives in it for the dudes drives me crazy. It's so dismissive of the wives, like they'd do anything to keep their husbands happy, and just, screw that!

My picfor1000 story came really easily, so yeah, I'll take the over achiever badge this time :D

It's knocked nanna for six. She was sitting in her dressing gown on Sunday and I'm really not used to that. James is off for another two weeks, so hopefully by the end of that he's feeling better.

I hate having colds. They're so annoying, especially when they linger.
