The weather has been weird this week. Really heavy snow two days ago, snow during the night, while now it's sunny and looks like everything is thawing. At least it was, now it's gone grey and horrible again. Seriously, weather. One thing or another, please.

It was my last lie in this morning as Corey is back at college tomorrow after half term. Sadly I didn't get as many lie ins as I wanted with being woken by a phone call twice and one morning having a powercut that set off the house alarm. Not that any of us heard it until I woke up 3 1/2 hours later /o\

A few days we went for a drive up the coast, further north than our usual haunts. It was a cold day and we ended up eating dinner in the car in a carpark that was surrounded by the ocean on two sides. We'd gone there as Kaleigh and Kay had taken Kayleigh's bbf's toddler daughter to the waterpark. Sadly it wasn't a just-because trip but more giving people space to talk as Kayleigh's bff's dad had just found out he has cancer in both lungs. Two weeks ago he was still working, just had pain in his back, now he's barely able to walk and they said it's incurable. They did say he could have years left, but he collapsed a few days ago, so I suspect that's being optimistic.

James goes back to work this week. While his back is better his hand is the same, but it's nothing that stops him working. Which is good as if he didn't go back this week his pay would be halved. In amazing news, though, his at-home working is finally up and running. He needs to make test calls but after a 3 hour visit from 3 BT men, the computers are all connected and ready to go.

I've been poking at an idea that may become one of the multi band stories I enjoy writing so much. It's sort of influenced by the dystopian books I've been reading lately and so far I've the vaguest of outlines and a start, but the idea is there. And hell, after so long of not writing a word or wanting to, I'll take it.

I'm glad James' back is feeling better. My brother just went back to work after back surgery too. He went back early since he didn't have any more sick days, but his coworkers are being accommodating and doing the heavy lifting for him.

YAY for a fresh idea and new words!! Don't think I am letting you off the coma story though! *g*

Yeah, moving from Costco to the State was one of the better things that happened for him. He really likes his job and coworkers.

YAY!! He's been in a coma for a long time now.

Pshh, I want to hear about them. :D Besides, it's only fair, considering I must be overwhelming you with notfic. What is it, almost three separate stories in one week? Sheesh.

I don't know, at least you've had some sunshine. Here's been consistently awful the last few weeks.

People shouldn't call in the mornings! But it sounds like you might have to change that alarm to something more efficient.

Good luck to James.

I can't believe his at-home workplace is finally working! I thought it never would :-)

It's good to hear that you're feeling inspired again. I know how discontent and meh I feel when I don't have any inspiration. Good luck with the new story!

Hurray for new inspiration, and James feeling better, and the working-at-home project making some progress!

Huzzah for the at-home-system working (finally!) and James feeling better and for you getting new words!

I'm sure you'll have tons of fun with making the different bands go through lots of h/c in that dystopian fic. \o?

(Sorry for the sudden!comment spam, btw. I'd made up my mind to catch up with your posts by the time I would head off to bed. Which is right now. Good night. Zzzzzz.)

Yay for writing! That's awesome.

I'm glad to hear that James's back is better, sorry about the hand though. And for the sad occasion of your drive. (though once again yay ocean picnic!)

Being woken unexpectedly when you're trying to sleep in is SO UNFAIR.

In amazing news, though, his at-home working is finally up and running.

Finally! Fingers crossed that it'll keep working!
