Mar. 9th, 2013 03:20 pmKayleigh came by to drop off a mother's day card for mam tomorrow. You don't know how relieved I am about that. They're still not talking, and it was Kay that said she had to do it, but if she hadn't sent a card it would have been saying something that could never be taken back.
Otherwise, things are plodding on over here. I had the worst head cold all of last week, but am finally feeling human again. The skin under my nose is even starting to lose that scuffed up, bright red appearance it had going for days.
Earlier I was telling Sperrywink that it felt winter was leaving, and then it got forecast for snow. I get it weather, I won't try and predict you again.
I was reading about Fandom Wanks greatest wanks, and couldn't believe that it was ten years ago they moved to Journalfen, especially as I was around when that happened. Looking at my stats it seems I missed my ten year LJversary in Sept last year. Ten years, no wonder if feels like so many people from there are part of my life.
I posted a bandom_meme fill earlier. Mikey/Gerard for the prompt angry sex, though in actuality it's more frottage going on than full sex. But, it did break my spell of writing nothing for many weeks, and while I felt a bit rusty, I still posted. So if you want to read. A Pox on Plaid.
Now for getmikeylaid and BBB. /o\
ETA: Forgot to say, I enjoyed this from Kerrang. Give me that music now!

Date: 2013-03-09 06:48 pm (UTC)glad to hear you're writing again after not writing for a while. i haven't really paid much attention to bandom lately, are there still many people writing mcr fic? i feel it's been very quiet in these parts of fandom for a while now but it might just be because i haven't been paying enough attention?
i've had an LJ for ten years, too!

Date: 2013-03-09 07:33 pm (UTC)People are starting to write it again. There was a time just after the Mikey thing when nothing was getting posted, but that's slowly changed. The weird thing is the fic doesn't tend to get announced on places like bandslashmania, so if you don't subscribe to people or follow them on the journal sites you don't know about it.
Another LJ old timer! I hope they know what they've lost with all the changes they've made.

Date: 2013-03-09 08:59 pm (UTC)it's too bad people don't announce their fics anymore. makes it so much harder to find them! although i suspect most fanfic writers post their fics on ao3 these days. it's fairly easy to discover new stories there if they're tagged well!
i logged onto LJ the other day to read my flist and i got so annoyed at all the changes! thank goodness for DW!

Date: 2013-03-09 07:23 pm (UTC)Glad your cold has lessened and you got some writing done.
We never did get our massive snow, just a dusting on Friday. Hopefully it misses you too. Are you gardening this year?
My ten year LJversary happened in December. I remember when Fandom_Wank moved to Journalfen too. Good times. *g*
That Kerrang article was fun. I want their music too! Just a month or so away now!

Date: 2013-03-09 07:30 pm (UTC)Me too. I was sick of having a cotton head, and have been sociable and productive today, if only online.
Glad you missed the snow. So far we've had sleet only so suspect if it does snow it won't lie. But yeah, we are gardening. We have the seeds but it's still too cold to plant them. I'm getting impatient to start. I want to get my pink tools out of storage.
I remember you saying you joined just after me. I do wonder if Journalfen is used much. I have an account but only tend to go there to check out FW every now and then.
So soon! Imagine if we have new FOB and MCR music. It would be amazing, and like we'd gone back in time.

Date: 2013-03-09 08:36 pm (UTC)Heh, I know what you mean. I thought winter was over but we're supposed to get below zero temps and strong winds for the next week or so. AND a bit of snow too. Brrr!!
A very belated happy anniversary then. (I feel like such a newbie, I've only had my LJ since 2005 :-)
You're writing again, yay!!! (I have it open in another tab and hopefully my eyes will feel better by tomorrow so I can read it. It's going to be an early night for me tonight I feel.)
Good luck with your writing!
Something else I must read tomorrow.

Date: 2013-03-10 09:50 am (UTC)I was so sure winter was on the way out, but right now it's snowing really heavily and is colder than it has been for ages. Below zero temps in March are just wrong.
Ahahah, thank you. It really is very belated. Just 2005, tsk. Such a newbie *g*
I am! Nothing earth shattering but I needed to get into the groove again, and an easy prompt from the meme seemed the way to go. I hope your eyes feel much better when you wake up.

Date: 2013-03-09 08:41 pm (UTC)Ugh, March, so fickle with its weather. We had some spring days and then bam, -9C and snow. /o\
Ooh, ten years! Awesome. Wow, I got my LJ in... 2004. Which will be... nine years this year. o_____o
Writing! Mikey! \o/ <3333

Date: 2013-03-10 09:52 am (UTC)I know! What's up with that? The weather needs to make up its mind.
Ten years seems such a huge chunk of time, as is 9 years. I love that we have this history of our fannish time.
Finally!

Date: 2013-03-15 03:43 am (UTC)Wow! 10 years? I got my LJ in 2007 (I think? LJ's acting up at the moment so I can't log in to check). However, I know that I spent about a year and change lurking on people's journals. It's funny to think that there was a time where I was terrified of commenting to people ON THE INTERNETS but there we are. *g*
Kerrang! is truly in love with MCR. Hee!

Date: 2013-03-18 08:07 am (UTC)It feels like I've been on LJ forever, which is one of the reasons I'm clinging on and not leaving there. It is hard to think of you being shy about commenting *g*
Kerrang have such a love on going for them, and I'm so glad of that!
