May. 11th, 2013 06:22 pmI submitted my bbb first draft last night. While that shows it can be done, I really wouldn't recommend writing over 75% of a big bang in less than a week.
Other things. Our greenhouse is back up, and now contains tiny tomato and courgette plants, while the kitchen windowsill is still full of other, even smaller, seedlings.
I had a lovely day last week. James had just finished his night shifts and for some reason wasn't tired at all. He brought me breakfast in bed -- only a mcdonalds breakfast meal, but still, and also woke me up an hour before the alarm was due to go off, but that was okay, as before nine we were at the beach, walking on the sand while it was beautifully still and quiet. Later we drove along the coast and stopped where some temporary art that had been installed on a grassy bank, and enjoyed exploring the sculptures -- James has photos on his phone, I may share them later -- and then had ice cream in an ice cream parlour decked out to look like something out of the 50s.
Later in the week James got his MRI done and I got to hang in the waiting room of the private clinic and enjoy free coffee and TVs that actually worked. While there I also discovered I have instagram on my phone, so signed up and got snapping. One of my first attempts, the fishshop where we got our tea after a really long day. Though, I must learn how to turn the pictures the right way.
Strange thing. I can't actually post to twitter on my phone as when I try I get weird symbols instead of letters. I can text fine, write comments on instagram pictures fine, but tweets? Nope. I guess it just means I'll have to interact via instragram while out, and not respond to anyone like the antisocial person I am.
For everyone owned by a cat. Kopperblaze linked to this on twitter, and it made me laugh a lot.
Also, I've been enjoying Gerard on twitter, especially his tweet about Mikey.
And with that, I'm done.

Date: 2013-05-11 05:31 pm (UTC)I hope we'll get a really good summer this year so all your plants (and mine :-) will flourish.
That sounds like an all-round lovely day. Despite being woken up before the alarm sounds :-)
Lancecat would never do all those things! He's a nicely brought up kitty ;-)
Gerard's twitters are totally the highlight of my day right now.

Date: 2013-05-11 06:01 pm (UTC)I hope so. Though the weather forecast is on right now and apparently another cold front is on the way. Hopefully it doesn't stick around long.
It was an excellent day, even with the early wake up. Though I have to admit, breakfast in bed isn't all it's cracked up to be. Maybe after I'd been awake for a while, but not so much when I open my eyes and the food is already there.
You need to send Lancecat to mine to teach my cats some manners *g*
He's so great. I loved that he addressed the people being dismissive and mean about the winners of his art contest. And of course, it was good to see him chatting with Brian.

Date: 2013-05-12 02:28 pm (UTC)Congrats on BBB - that is IMPRESSIVE emergency writing mojo! Can I borrow some? And yay on getting picked for art & mix! Not that I'm surprised - I think the less summaries there are, the more the quality ones stand out.
Ice cream on the beach sounds super lovely... *envies*

Gerard on Twitter is definitely the best. &him;

Date: 2013-05-13 01:55 pm (UTC)It was a lovely day. I like wandering in the sun, especially at the beach when it's not too hot and not too crowded. Of course it's back to being cold and wet now.
Gerard is amazing on twitter. He sounds so happy, and that's fantastic.

Date: 2013-05-13 03:15 am (UTC)FWIW, I was able to pick which one was yours (at the very least, I'm about 99.9999999 % sure it's your story. LOL!)
I haven't gotten the urge to get on Instagram yet. Maybe once I get a new phone (probably an iPhone 5 because, much as I love my Android phone, the newer models are way too big for my hands. *sadface*)
Gerard's been an absolute doll. I feel he's at a point in his life when he's confident about creating and sustaining boundaries. Thankfully, the few bad apples (meaning the 200 or so people he's had to block--out of 500,000) haven't soured him on twittering.
Brian's been faboo as well. Just like Ray (even though most of his tweets are about tech stuff that goes over my head) and Frank (with his trollish ways.) If anything, I'm mostly missing Mikeyway. I'm hoping he'll have Twitter parties soon. #foreveraMikeywaywife

Date: 2013-05-13 04:14 pm (UTC)Ahahaha, yeah. I'd you could be wrong and I was writing Frank/Gerard again, but all the clues are there.
My phone hasn't got the best camera, and to be honest, I don't really feel the urge to capture my day. But, it seems like a handy thing at times. And if you did start using it, I'd be spying on your day for sure >:)
I'm loving Gerard on twitter. He's still himself, but also, so obviously settled and happy with his life that it's lovely to see. It's why I roll my eyes at the people saying he's weird now, he's not at all, he's just doing what he loves and not pandering the people who want to cause trouble.
Still loving that Brian's so nice now. Still hoping Bob takes a note out of his book. And yeah, I don't understand half of Ray's tweets.
