Mam got admitted to hospital on Thursday. That was not a good day, from having her cry down the phone to me when the doctor came to visit and said she had to go straight in. To the hours of waiting and trying to find out any info. It didn't help that it was a really hot day and she was right in the middle of the hospital, in a part with no windows. I was literally dripping with sweat and by the time I got home was wiped.

Add to that mam's still not talking to Kayleigh, so told me I wasn't allowed to tell her what was going on. So I told my brother instead, who hadn't been told not to tell her. It's such a mess, mam's really sick and saying she doesn't want to see Kayleigh, while Kayleigh is saying she's done nothing to feel guilty about so doesn't care. Then last night Kay sent mam a text saying Kayleigh was worried sick, didn't know she'd sent the text, but could they go see her? Mam hasn't replied, and just phoned me saying if it was Kayleigh who asked if they could go in she'd say yes, but as it's Kay she thinks Kayleigh would be dragged in and not actually want to go.

And if you've read and understood all that, kudos.

To add to that awesome Thursday. After we got home Kay phoned to say her dad -- who is severely disabled after a series of strokes, and is battling cancer at the moment -- had been dropped when he was in a respite care home, and his thigh had been broken. Two people are supposed to lift him, and only one tried. So now he's stuck in a full length leg cast on top of all that.

Then the next morning we found out our IVA, which we've been using to pay off debts, had failed. Which was excellent timing.

On the plus side, James is feeling much better and apart from a shift on Sunday, is off on his holidays now for two weeks, which means daily visiting will be much easier.

I submitted my wave three last night. Thankfully I was pretty close to minimum word count when all this went down, so I worked like crazy to get an ending and placeholders in place when I had spare time. So, submitted late last night. Then woke up this morning and saw the deadline had been pushed back until Sunday. Head meet desk. There is an option to resubmit, and it would mean I could fill in a placeholder, but I'm not even going to look at it yet. James is still at a scout sleep over so I'm going to read my flist and answer some comments.

And a final good thing. Gerard posted a picture that included him and Mikey. That always makes me happy.

I wrote like 4k on my bbbs yesterday, lol. At least now I can write two more scenes so it'll have a proper END instead of just a placeholdery end. I was already planning on doing that but before tonight (summary claiming), so at least now I have a bit more time. :D

Yeah, I was shocked when I heard about Kay's dad. It was such a stupid thing to do.

I did finish my draft. It's got a load of filler scenes but at least has an end. That will have to be enough for anyone that wants to pick it.
