Oct. 8th, 2013 05:36 pmSome of the first posts I saw when I logged on were ones about LJ supposedly banning journals with gay content. While LJ does have form for making bad decisions, it sounded suspect to me, and by now I've read a lot of posts and comments from people who've been investigating, and it seems very much like a rumour based on one person who hates LJ. Check these comments or these if you want to see for yourself. While backing up your journals/fic is a good thing, I hope this won't be another scrapbook situation where unsubstantiated rumours caused upset and petitions went up about something that never happened and was never going to happen.
Okay, now I've taken off my 'I love LJ' hat. Time for a post, which for once isn't full of doom and gloom.
Things have been steady at okay/good around these parts, and that suits me fine. My dad's partner had her hip replacement and was out of hospital 3 days later, which still amazes me. Kayleigh passed her driving theory test today, which is awesome as she already has a pride and joy car she can't wait to drive. Kay's dad has had his last radiotherapy session, and while the cancer isn't cured, he's not any worse and has a three month break so they can enjoy a relatively stress free Christmas.
It's Houghton Feast time so I can hear the shows at the fairground and there's been fireworks on Friday and last night. Autumn is very much here, and it's my favourite season so I'm enjoying seeing the leaves change and the nights starting to draw in. My leg is starting to feel better after doing something to it that meant anything but sitting still hurt. It was my nephew's birthday tea on Sunday and will be Kayleigh's and my other nephew's birthday at the end of the week. These birthday clusters, man, they're killers financially.
I missed signing up for the
bandom_meme exchange but am happy to see many excellent prompts that I hope will be filled. I will sign for the
bandom_holidays exchange as it's not the holiday season without me stressing about writing fic.
annemari wrote me fic. It's Frank/Mikey and is all kinds of awesome. Like A Chemical Stress. She knows what I like ♥
Finally, I love these pictures of Mikey with Sarah's kid. I was talking to Annemari about them when Sarah first posted them, how Mikey had changed so much from the black clothed, eye make-up'ed guy he used to be. And while I'll always love that Mikey, this new one is pretty cool, too. Ironman and Spiderman

Yayy, bandom fic, yay! \o/ God, I love holiday exchanges.
Mikey looks SO GOOD. And so hot in the Spiderman outfit, which is weird, since it's just a hoodie type thing and you can't even see his face. BUT HOT.

Holiday exchanges are the best! I love them too.
The spiderman one makes me laugh, and yes, he does look hot. I'm holding out hope for lots of Halloween outfits being shown.

I totally agree with you, autumn is a wonderful season. The leaves have really started to turn here this week and with the sunshine we had Sunday and part of today everything looked absolutely lovely.

Autumn is the best. All our trees have patches of red and yellow in them and they look so pretty.
