Nov. 23rd, 2014 01:52 pmLong time no see, flist.
Since last I posted Kayleigh has moved out of mam's, and then moved back in a few days later. They're on an up point right now, but as always that's bound to change soon. I'm just letting them get on with it and listening when needed. Which isn't that much at the moment but man, my phones nearly get launched from the nearest window when they're fighting.
I don't think I mentioned but Kayleigh has also fallen out with my brother, big time. So that's fun, too.
Personally I'm really enjoying the run up to Christmas. I've been watching the Christmas movie channels for weeks now and present wise, we're well on the way. I even have James' birthday present hidden away ready for next week, so am feeling all kinds of accomplished. It's weird not taking part in any kind of holiday exchange or mini nano, but I decided to just write off writing for this year. Hopefully next year will be better.
But yes, things are fine. Lots of walks at the, beach. Though we couldn't walk the prom yesterday as the waves were really crashing against the prom. Which was weird as it wasn't windy at all, just the tide was really high. We also went to the park one really wet day, and immediately got surrounded by swans. And lots of cooking as James has joined Slimming World which means nightly cooking from scratch.
My computer was also acting up for a while, but after disabling most adds ons it's stopped constantly hanging, which is good as it was all kinds of frustrating.
Apart from keeping an eye on Mikey and Kristen's twitter/instagram I'm out of the loop fannishly but did have a fandom meet real life moment when I was lurking around Mumsnet and found a thread about FOB's Young Blood Chronicles videos. It was an interesting read with serious comments, funny comments and bonus MCR and Gerard mentions. However, my favourite was the early one that simply stated, 'Keep in mind Andy Hurley is a vegan', because that explains it all! Murder, cannibalism, blood, gore and death. Just remember. Andy is a vegan, so all is okay.

Good luck to Kayleigh, your mam, and your brother. It sounds like it is going to be an interesting holiday season. :-P
Walks are good. I am trying to get out and walk more too. I don't have anywhere as interesting as the beach, but there are some decent parks around.
Next year writing will come back, for sure!!!

Interesting is right. While mam is buying gifts she has no intention of decorating for Christmas, and Kayleigh isn't bothered either. Probably because Kay is a huge Christmas fan, so much so she helps run a grotto for the kids in her local area, something that involved K&K getting dressed up as elves a few years back.
Once I actually get out I enjoy walking, especially when it's at the beach. I like it at this time of year, even if it is a bit chilly.
I hope it does come back. I keep getting kudos and being a little sad there's nothing that recent. Though randomly, Ten Rules For Looking After Mikey Way is getting lots of kudos which I still don't get.

Date: 2014-11-23 04:20 pm (UTC)I keep laughing when I think of the Andy is a vegan comment. It's just so random in terms of the issues being raised.

Date: 2014-11-23 08:15 pm (UTC)What do you mean, "run up to Christmas" and "watching the Christmas movie channels for weeks"?!! It's still NOVEMBER!! The runup hasn't even started yet! You're all heathens!! >:[
I get so envious of you living so close to the coast. Going for walks in the woods are really no fun in November, it's so dark and dreary. It's so much lighter by the sea. And with the waves there's always something to look at.
Ugh, computer problems suck so much! I'll keep my fingers closed it was a one-off kind of thing and you won't have any more problems with it.

Date: 2014-11-25 08:25 pm (UTC)I wish that did happen. As it is I get complaints and moaning from both of them until all I want to do is cut the phone line and take the battery out of my mobile.
I was thinking about you when i was talking about the runup to Christmas. Mostly because lately I've been muttering to James about people who have decorated already, in some cases since early November, which I think is far too soon. But then I know you think my Dec 1st decorating is too soon, and that I have the wrong colour lights *g*
I love walking by the sea. I actually prefer it when it's colder so the crowds are mostly gone.

Date: 2014-11-23 08:24 pm (UTC)YAY WALKING.
Dude, I'm glad someone CAN enjoy the run up to the holiday season. Retail makes it nigh on IMPOSSIBLE for me to spare much empathy for a holiday season I genuinely enjoy.
*builds us a blanket fort towatch holiday movies on* Writing is non-existent with me. And the closest to anything fandomy I do is converse with Gala on Tuesday nights about a Rooster Teeth show. And we'll exchange links to gif posts on tumblr.
Also MAN...that Andy comment makes me laugh for SOO many reasons. Oh I needed that. Happy sunday night

Date: 2014-11-25 08:11 pm (UTC)Walking is good, I just need to get off my ass and do it more often.
Yeah, I always feel for you working retain coming up to the holidays. I was talking to a worker in my usual grocery store and she was saying how busy it was already, and I felt bad for her. I'm about to go delivery or click and collect orders only, but of course that's not an option for people who work there.
I've been so disconnected recently. I need a mega catch up and reminder of all the things I love about fandom and writing. I miss it, but at the same time I'm not doing anything to change things. Just not in the mood.
The Andy comment was gold. It was just so random.
