We brought Kayleigh came home from hospital today. The operation went well and she's doing okay apart from the fact she's been home less than an hour, has gone in the shower and all her dressings have washed off.

James is starting to feel a little better, too. He had a really down period last week but is a bit brighter now. Again I'm so thankful our car is adapted for one handed driving, because that bit of independence helps so much, even if we're not actually going far right now.

I managed to trap a nerve in my back. I had to go to the doctor's this morning because my leg was hurting, but also numb to temperature. She gave me painkillers and told me to arrange a physio appointment, which I just did. Except what this means is you phone the central physio department and they arrange for a physio to phone you to see if they're going to do anything. My phone call will be between 4-5 on Wednesday. It's a good thing my leg isn't about to drop off.

Now though, a quick tidy up and then I'm going to try and catch up a bit.

Me too.

It's okay when I'm using the painkillers, but they're so strong I want to go nap as soon as I take them. Which isn't ideal in the slightest.

I'm glad to hear Kayleigh's operation went well. And that James is starting to feel better!

Ouch, that sounds quite painful. I'll keep my fingers crossed you'll get to see a physiotherapist. (What a cumbersome system! It must lead to many irritating waits and general frustration!)

It's a stupid system. When I called I was expecting them to say I'd get my phone call back within hours not days.

I'm finding it's okay as long as I don't actually walk much. Sadly I can't just sit around all day, as tempting as that is.

I'm glad James isn't as down on himself as he was. It's always double-hard dealing with things when you are down.

He really was down for a while, and like you said, feeling that way makes the practical issues even tougher. He's off to slimming world soon, the first time he's been out without me or Corey since it happened. I'll be sitting trying not to imagine him falling down some steps or something.

Kayleigh's doing well so far, though is frustrating in that she's in pain but won't take painkillers. I mean, that's what they're there for!

Thank you. Thankfully the painkillers help a lot, and I did think it had eased a little this morning. Then I went grocery shopping and went with mam to the eye infirmary, and by the time I got home discovered that nope, that nerve was still trapped.

Thank you. Rob the physio is supposed to call between 4-5. Goodness knows what will happen then. Maybe I'll get an actual appointment four weeks from now.

They did, and I have an appointment for the 19th. So I'm assuming my leg is in no danger of falling off.
