I've been to see X Men Apocalypse today, and enjoyed it so much. While I don't read the comics I've always enjoyed the franchise since watching the cartoons as a kidlet, and I just found this movie a load of fun. I went in looking forward to seeing Quicksilver the most, and he didn't disappoint, but I also fell for Nightcrawler, and also found him rather attractive. I mean, look at that face.

Loved Sophie Turner as Jean, too. Which nicely brings me to, .

Finally Sansa and Jon have met up. FINALLY! I got so frustrated in both the book and series when various Starks kept just missing each other, and now Jon and Sansa are together and it was beautiful. That hug. My heart. And if anyone watches that episode and still can't see that Sansa is kick-ass and amazing I don't know where they're looking. I'm so looking forward to her and Jon marching to Winterfell and taking it back from the psychotic Ramsey. What would make it even better is if Theon was there too. And that it wasn't actually Shaggydog's head. *has a moment for the passing of yet another dire wolf*

Other good things. [personal profile] turlough sent me the most gorgeous scarf which you can see here, though the photo doesn't do it justice at all. It's so beautiful, lacy and delicate and such a lovely colour. Turlough always sends the best gifts ♥ And thinking of Turlough, I forgot to say that last week we went to the Wetlands, and while there we checked out the otters. Last time they went they were celebrating the first baby otter that had been born there, and this time 3 more had been born. Sadly we didn't get to see those babies, but we did get to see the last baby, who's now a big grown up otter. see.

James is off work for three weeks now, but before he left was given a wedding present from the Oc Health department at work. That was lovely of them, but very unexpected as we haven't asked for, or expected any kinds of gifts. I mean, we've been together so long there's nothing we need. Then when I was in the garden the neighbour from up the street said she'd got us something and would drop it in later, and later again, James phoned saying his boss wanted to know what she could buy us. It was all very generous and lovely, but also surprising because I didn't expect that at all.

Today I also bought my shoes, they're red and strappy and I'd show you a photo but I left them in the car and James has gone off to scouts. So now all I need is my hair sorting. I was trying on flower crowns today and rather liking them, but don't know if they match the outfit as a whole. But, that's to sort out later, for now I have a greenhouse to water and X Men fic to search out.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the movie. I can't say I agree with you about that face, I'm afraid :-)

I'm so happy you like your present. I'll never be a big fan of lace knitting but it was really cool to watch the pattern grow.

Adorable otters!!! And I totally envy you your exhibitionistic otters 'cause whenever I'm at a place that has otters they always stay in hiding. I've seen an otter in real life exactly ONCE and that was on a beach on Isle of Skye.

Yay for suprise!wedding presents!

And for new shoes! You're going to look so fabulous.

X-Men is one of those "could've been yet never was" fandoms for me. I'm glad that you enjoyed the new movie. :)

Aaah, Sansa! Even though I've yet to forgive TPTB for doing Sansa so wonky last season, I'm glad to see her slowly coming into her own power. Her reunion with Jon made me happily teary-eyed because they've both gone through so much! Even lovelier was their conversation during which they both acknowledged that they'd been wrong about each other. What made it one of my fave scenes in the season is seeing BOTH of them apologizing. It'd have been easy to leave Jon's self-realization that he too had been wanky af back in S1 (after all, he's one of the heroes of the show). But neither character is perfect.

Overall, it was a good episode and now I'm super into things (except for Dorne and Arya. The first because the show did a bad job of establishing the Dorne story and the latter because I feel that Arya's too detached from the main storyline. She needs to be brought back into the fray somehow). Unfortch for me, though, I came across a potential HUGE spoiler for the season because I didn't close the tab fast enough. I'm about 80% sure the spoiler will happen because of ~reasons~.

New scarf from Turl, otters, and a wedding prezzie! All good things. ;)
