turpsI had a very lovely day yesterday. Reading stocking fills, pottering around the house and answering comments.
Then when I went to bed I was checking Insta -- as I usually do -- and saw JC had posted pictures of carrots and knew I'd have to discuss that with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
solariana today. If you don't know what I'm on about, there's a new show in the US that has masked and costumed celeb singers one of whom is either Joey or JC from Nsync. Jacie's been doing a wonderful job of keeping us in the loop with what's happening, and I've been enjoying the theories of who rabbit actually is. Now the question is, is it JC or is it a double bluff!?
Now the icon meme, these were picked byshadowhive who had the choice of about 70% Mikey and the rest others. Which suggests I really need to update my icons already.
I like owls, not for any real concrete reasons. I just like them, especially how they portrayed in graphic form, like they're so wise and usually cranky with it. I like how they always seem to be looking at you and finding you lacking. Really, they're cats in feathered form. They're also really powerful, something I realised when I got to hold one last year. The icon was made byturlough like many of my icons because she's great at them.
This icon has such great memories and is tied to when MCR first started to tour again. It had been a long time without seeing them, and I remember searching for photos of that first show and then suddenly, there they were, and omg, they looked good. I'd known that Mikey had changed his hairstyle, but actually seeing him perform with that blond flippy hair and that animal print top that never came off his back and just.... GAH! I can remember posting those pics really late -- for me anyway, and everyone flailing, so of course, I needed an icon to remind me of that. I've actually just gone looking for that post, which was easier than I expected as I don't tend to use subjects so this one stood out. So if you too want to bask in memories, it's here.

With not writing as much that may not be that apparent to new people, but I do love h/c and back when I used to write stories with some length to them I used to love being mean to the characters. Now I'm reminded of the hungover owls tumblr and will not be getting any writing done today bahahaha

Date: 2019-01-21 04:42 pm (UTC)It's a new show in the US. I've never seen it but have seen clips. They take celebs and dress them in amazing costumes that hide their identity. The celebs sings and are judged, the loser getting unmasked. One of the costumes is a rabbit and debate has been going on if it's JC or Joey from Nsync. It sounds like a cool concept.

I went to a bird sanctuary place and you could hold some of the birds. The owls were great but I got to hold an eagle and that was just, wow!

Owls! I recently learned that if you look into an owl's ears you can see the back of its eyeballs, and I feel compelled to share that knowledge with everyone I possibly can.
(OMG, JC might be competing on a reality TV show while dressed as a giant rabbit. I'm just. Popslash, you know?)
ETA: FWIW, R just came home, saw me watching the Livin La Vida Loca clip, and asked, "Are you trying to work out if that rabbit is JC?" But he said it was a combo of the voice and 'your expression', whatever THAT is supposed to mean :-)

Jacie had posted some screen grabs and seeing them I was initially thinking Joey as the rabbit seemed to have a bit of belly to him. But looking further I think that was just a bad angle. Plus, watching video Rabbit moves like JC. Then that carrot photo was posted by him last night and I just thought, ha! JC is bondage rabbit!
Which is awesome and I hope he doesn't get eliminated until the final because even if I do want to know for sure, I also want more singing. Plus, it seems a lot of people are debating if it's Joey or JC and the more exposure they have the better. Plus you know, JC posting photos of carrots and teasing. You go, JC! Revel in that awesome costume and being on a reality TV show. I really want him to win.

There are a ton of ex-boybanders around who would fit the 'synchronised singing' hint. New Kids, O-Town, 98 Degrees, etc. And Backstreet, of course, although they still have actual jobs, so :-)
JC's carrot Tweet is hilarious either way. He's obviously had a lot of people asking him about it. It does make me think, though, that it's SO blatant that he probably wouldn't have posted it if it really was him and he was contractually supposed to keep it a secret. So...does that mean it's more like to be Joey?

Though one of my favourite suggestions was it could be Chris, and yeah, no, not unless he has stilts built into that costume.
I've just read that Joey's denied it was him, but again it could be misdirection. I agree, though. JC's carrot tweet is great. I like trolling JC.
I hadn't actually thought past those two, but Wade. Oh wow, it could fit. Now I've a load of other things to think about.

Googling around it looks like he's trying to get his career moving again, and even really silly reality TV is exposure. I wonder if he ever did choreography for the Pussycat Dolls? That might explain why Nicole Scherzinger thought she recognized his voice.

An article I read said that one of the actual show judges suggested Lance, which...seems unlikely. Maybe he was the only non-Justin Nsyncer they could name on the spur of the moment.
