Yesterday we went to Gibside, the National Trust property we like as I can get in a good walk while James uses the trapper scooter. In all the route we take is a few miles through some beautiful forest and mostly pretty deserted. They have a couple of small cafes, and we stopped at the smallest mid-route. I was happily eating my carrot soup when a wasp landed in it, it's a good job I was nearly done as I was most displeased. Then the wasp had the nerve to fly away, land on the cafe window and drag a soup trail up the glass from its stinger as if to demonstrate it had had its stingy little feet in my food.

They also have surplus fruit and veg for the price of a donation, so we picked up apples, raspberries, runner beans and this weird squash that's in the shape of a toilet seat. There were also courgettes available but yeah, no need for them. I had an apple when I got home and it was so beautifully tart. A weird shape which meant unless it was in the wonky range it wouldn't reach a supermarket shelf, but so delicious. If you're interested I posted some photos here on Insta.

When I got home I also got a phone call from the doctors saying the results of my blood tests were in and my calcium levels were too low and had I been taking my tablets. As I have been, and have been since I was prescribed them, I need to go back and have a retest in a fortnight and if it's still low they'll think what to do then. Hopefully, it's just a case of upping the dose on the tablets, because I wouldn't have said I have a particularly calcium limited diet.

Today we've been to see Downton Abbey at the cinema, and it was great. I haven't actually watched any of the tv show -- but suspect that will change now -- so wasn't sure if I'd understand what was going on. But they've obviously kept new people in mind and everything was understandable. What did throw me from the story a little was they used Beamish museum for an outdoor shopping scene so I was watching and thinking, I've been there, looked through those windows, walked into that shop, many many times.

Apparently, it's supposed to be an Indian summer this weekend, which is nice but seems to have blended in with actual summer. So no doubt I'll be out and about enjoying the sunshine. I need to sort out the garden too as its looking a bit straggly. The plants are starting to come to the end, which is a shame, I'll miss walking past the tomatoes and plucking off a cherry tomato and eating it like a sweet.

Maybe at some point, I'll even write a few words of the bodyswap. Stranger things have happened.

That sounds pretty! (And the pics confirm it!) But damn the fuck you wasp

Yay fruit and veg🖤

I hope everything’s ok with that

Yeah it’s been warm today and hopefully it’ll be nice tomorrow too. Our veggies haven’t done too well this time though the pumpkin is still growing.

Yay writing! I’m meant to be writing some more soon

Gibside looks lovely! How nice that you can share it.

Argh, I forgot to go pick more courgettes this afternoon. By tomorrow they'll probably be big enough to use as kayaks! (Thank you for the reminder!)

Downton Abbey the series is a gloriously well-dressed soap opera: ill-timed deaths, money woes, nasty rumors, sekrit!babies, blackmail, WWI, the Jazz Age, Irish revolutionaries... I mean, it starts with the Titanic & keeps going right from there. I (needless to say) adored it.

Evil wasp!!! I mostly don't mind wasps but this time of the year they're so obnoxious! Getting all up in your face and refusing to go away :-/

Gibside looks like such a lovely place for a walk. And yay for getting fruits and veggies!

How strange that your calcium levels suddenly are too low. Hopefully it's just a one-off occurrence and there is nothing actually wrong. *keeps fingers crossed*

I hope you'd a nice weekend! It's been very windy and chilly here and today it rained too. It feels very much like autumn.

Good thing they're so reactive, re the calcium thing.

Oh, you've seen Downton Abbey! I've watched all of the show so I'm pretty excited about it. It comes out next week here and I can't wait :) Glad to hear it's perfectly find for people who've never watched the show (no that it's any surprise, obviously, as they wouldn't want to limit their audience) but I've been talking about it to a coworker who's never watched the show and who felt like she might give a try to the film...

I've never watched any Downton Abbey either, but the film ads all look so compelling! If I do bite the bullet and buy a ticket, it's good to know I'll probably be able to follow it, at least. :)

That was very rude of the wasp! But the produce sounds great.

I hope the calcium thing won't cause you much grief!
