Today we've been to see The Addams Family. It's a kids film, so nothing much to say about it really. It was amusing enough and really short so we had plenty of parking time to have a quick walk around Durham after.

It's market day, so after a slow walk to the market square, we shared some food and talked to this lovely couple who had a huge Bernese Mountain Dog. He was only eight months old and already eight stone and I had to laugh as he was getting so much attention from people stopping to chat and ask for a stroke. I was surprised the couple weren't still on the bridge when we came back an hour later.

It was the first day it has felt properly crispy cold when we've been out and about, I even had frosty breath, but it was the cold that feels okay, and not the dreary and wet kind that burrows bone-deep.

Now we're home for a bit before going out again. It's dad's anniversary today, four years, and along with my brother and his family, we're meeting up with Pauline to get something to eat. Then tomorrow we're at my aunt's for the day, so it's going to be a sociable weekend.

I'm glad the humiliation day prompt is over for whumptober. Normally I'll read anything but everyday humiliation isn't my thing at all so yesterday I missed my daily dose of whumptobers.

Bently was amazing. The couple said they'd worked really hard on his socialisation and you could tell. He was just this huge bundle of puppy and fluff. But so placid and lazy. He rested against James' leg and relaxed so much that when James moved the dog nearly tipped to the side.

Wandering Durham in the sunshine, the air crisp and breath frosty was great. I very much enjoyed it.

It's going to be a rental for me since I'm not paying movie ticket prices to go see that movie. ;)

Ahh, that sounds like the loveliest of all weathers. May it continue a bit longer before the bitter cold moves in.

I don't blame you at all. I wouldn't have paid either if we didn't have the unlimited card. It's very much a film I'd half watch on the tv if it was on but if I had to pay actual cinema prices would avoid.

While waiting in the queue we were behind a family who had to pay £35 for two adult and two kids tickets, and those were the morning tickets which are always cheaper. I said a little mental 'thanks' to my card at that time.

They are like mini-horses and he was so gentle, too. I hope that's a breed thing as I'd hate to be around one that liked to run and jump.

Yeah, I'd like this weather to last a while. It's just the right amount of cold but with sunshine. I'll enjoy it until the temps drop again.

Honestly, I wouldn't have made a special trip to see it if it wasn't for having the unlimited card. It's fun enough, but nothing special at all.

He was the biggest and most adorable puppy.

I did, the food wasn't great though, and we've all agreed we're not going back. It's where we usually meet for our Christmas meal, but the new owners aren't good.

Market days are always enjoyable and so are meeting adorable dogs! I love Berneses, they have such pretty colouring. (And ever since that popslash fic Pen wrote where everyone except Lance is turned into a dog, Joey being a Bernese Mountain Dog, I always think of them as Fatone Dogs :-)

We're supposed to get some crispy weather in a day or two and I'm really looking forward to it. Now that most of the leaves have fallen from the trees everything looks so dreary when it's overcast and rainy.

I do love a market day. Thankfully I managed to steer myself away from the overpriced artisan bread and various cheese stalls.

Ah, yes! After seeing one in the flesh it's a great Joey match and I love the idea of them being Fatone dogs.

The crispy weather was so much better than the constant rain and grey we've seemed to have lately. I hope yours arrives soon.

We did have a good evening, but the food and service were pretty bad so we're knocking that pub off our 'will eat at' list. It's a shame as it's just around the corner from Pauline's house, and we normally go there for our Christmas gathering. But it has new owners and they weren't up to the task.
