Thank you to
nopseud for a fantastic card. It had unicorns on, which really, are almost as amazing as sparkle deers, and to
solariana for the beautiful card and calendars, both of which were fantastic and I love a lot. You made great choices for me ♥
We also got a lovely card from Shauna, Kayleigh's ex. I still miss seeing her and we have a chat over messenger every now and then to catch up and keep saying we'll meet for a coffee, though haven't been able to make that work yet.
Things went well yesterday. My MiL got to see my nephew and her Christmas wish granted, and I got to go to soft play again with my youngest niece and nephew. Where I ended up in the ball pit. I have to admit, they're not as much fun as they look and it doesn't help that they're sure to be filthy. A few times I've watched kids spill stuff in soft play and just leave it, and also, young kids, sometimes they're just grimy.
Today we've booked tickets to see Star Wars Thursday morning and then Cats the next day. I'm looking forward to them both in different ways. Then Saturday we're going to my aunts. This time I'll try and get some photos of her Christmas display because they're seriously amazing.

Today we've booked tickets to see Star Wars Thursday morning
So jealous! Due to the strikes, we won't be able to see it before the weekend - I mean, we could go after work but then we'd have to sleep at the cinema for there are no trains bringing us back home lol

Strikes are a pain. The metros here have been on a total two-day long strike yesterday and today. It doesn't affect me but I feel for everyone who wanted to go shopping without the hassle of using buses or driving.

Date: 2019-12-18 04:01 pm (UTC)Yay for movies!!! Please post what you think of both of them. I probably won't be able to see either one for quite a while. It all depends on what the family wants to see over the holidays.

Date: 2019-12-21 03:29 pm (UTC)I agree! Goodness knows what you could find at the bottom if you ever empty them out.
Well, I enjoyed both Star Wars and Cats, and will probably do extended posts about them soon. I hope you get to see them asap.

Date: 2019-12-21 03:30 pm (UTC)Busy is an understatement. Sadly my aunt had to cancel today as she's unwell, but at least it's given me an hour or so at home this afternoon before going out again.

Date: 2019-12-19 07:46 pm (UTC)Also, yeah, ball pits look fun but, gods, are they FILTHY AF.#NOPETUS
In a totally unexpected twist, I have somehow lost abt 80% of my enthusiasm for the new Star Wars movie. I think it's a combination of going thru so many things ending this year (the first three phases of the MCU, GoT, etc) + the general anxiety tht happens when I remember that JJ Abrams can't land an ending. In any case, I ended up reading up ALL THE SPOILERS for the movie.
Coincidentally, I realized that my Friday ticket was actually booked for Saturday, but I decided to change it for Monday instead. IDEK. So,unlike 97% of moviegoers this weekend, I'm going to go see the horror remake Black Christmas and a special screening of Uncut Gems on Saturday. *hands*
I'm most deffo NOT going to see Cats. For one thing, I rather save my coin for something I know I'll enjoy and secondly I'm not a fan of musicals. Even the super trainwreck-y possibility of this movie is not enough to pull me in. BUT I do want to know how you did or didn't like it, hahah.

Yes they are!
I know you've seen Star Wars now, so am glad you did go to see in the end, and enjoyed parts of it.

Ah, Cats. I need to actually do a post about this as a couple of people asked if I'd say how it was. First, you know I'm easily pleased by most films, entertain me and I'm happy. So, I didn't hate it. Were the cats freaky looking? Oh hell yeah, but I got used to that by the end.
If you don't like musicals you'd be screwed as there's very little spoken dialogue, just songs and the whole thing feels disorganised and scattered at times with things that make no sense.
But at the same time. As a cat person, I was impressed at how they captured the movement of cats, and some of the musical numbers were really catchy. It also made me think of Freeisa going off to another life which made me sad and then happy, so I guess there's that too.

Date: 2019-12-20 04:58 am (UTC)Looking forward to seeing your Aunt's Christmas display. I was driving home last night and loving all the sparkly lights. I don't often go out at night so driving was fun for once.

Date: 2019-12-28 05:16 pm (UTC)People on our estate have started putting up more outside lights, which look lovely. But one house has gone all our with various different coloured neon flashing lights and each time I see them in the small garden I'm glad I don't live next door.
