I didn't get to my aunt's yesterday as she was sick, but to be honest, while I would have loved to see her, I was also glad we didn't have to travel to her house as yesterday was a full day as it was.
After getting to Asda first thing, we were in Sunderland by nine and finished buying the last few presents. By the time we were getting ready to leave the shops were packed, and I was very happy to get out of there knowing apart from the buns and some fresh veg all shopping is now done. Those I'll get from Lidl either tomorrow or Tuesday morning, another time it's very handy to literally live over the road from the place.
Then in the afternoon, we had to go to see James' aunt and uncle to swap gifts for the family. He's such a lovely man but has just had a big operation after they found he had a cancerous tumour in his groin. They removed it all, but he still needs radiotherapy in the new year, and of course, is in a lot of pain due to the op. I could tell he was ready for us to go after an hour so we made our excuses and took his gifts back to my in-laws and brought ours home.
Today I'd planned a house based day to get presents wrapped but James needed to have a quick drive to work to drop off his secret Santa and my MiL had asked if we could get a Magic 8 Ball as my youngest niece wanted one. after checking out a few places where we could have click and collected, I thought, screw that and ordered via Amazon Prime as the thought of hitting the shops again was just, nope. So, after the drive I've been working in the garden as it was sunny, getting some of the old leaves up and just generally tidying up the place.
Then tomorrow it's back to the in-laws to drop off presents for my oldest nephew as it's his last contact session before Christmas. On the night we're off to the pantomime at the theatre, which I'm looking forward to. It's Cinderella and I think it's going to be both frantic, festive and fab.
I've been wanting to write some fills for the bandom and popslash ficathon, but can't see me getting the time to do so until after boxing day now. So, hopefully, late will be okay.
Forgot to say in the good news post, the engineer has also been out about the new stairlift, measured up and so that should be installed in the new year. Plus, they'll be replacing some stair treads that are a bit spongy with is a nice bonus.
To end, some of my favourite MCR photos I've seen in the last day, behind

In conclusion, still can't believe they're back, and I need more Ray close ups to appear!

Date: 2019-12-22 09:24 pm (UTC)And then our Hanukkah luncheon today turned into Hanukkah breakfast, so there I was leaving the house at 8am. Thankfully today, I got home around noon and could relax and catch up online.
I feel you on the writing thing. I am so out of practice.
I swear Gerard stole my haircut. But not my mustache, that is all him. *g*
Can't wait to watch some of the concert. So excited!

I’m glad everything is sorted and I hope James uncle’s recovery goes well
Have fun!
And it’s ok, my writing is slow too! Anything will be appreciated I’m sure
Yay the boys!

Date: 2019-12-23 09:23 am (UTC)I hope so too. No way would she have cancelled unless she was feeling rough. But, plans are we'll go there between Christmas and new year.
I think we will have fun, even though right now the thought of going out again is making me feel tired. But it'll be a good time I'm sure.
I really do hope to do some fills, just, haven't had a spare minute to think about writing lately. Soon I hope.

Date: 2019-12-23 09:28 am (UTC)7:30 is not a good time when you were expecting to leave later! I hope it went well though. For us, it's because we have the only car on James' side of the family so we get nominated to do all the delivering/visiting/odd jobs, which is fine and I don't mind. Just a bit tying.
Last night I was telling James that on the 28th, which is the next day we have no plans, I don't intend to leave the house at all.
Writing, I think back to last year and how I did bandom exchange and fandom stockings and wonder how the hell I managed that.
Ahahahaha, now I'm highly amused thinking of you sharing Gerard's haircut, though I'm glad you haven't gone as far at the mustache *g*
It was great! I may have watched Kids From Yesterday multiple times now. Which hasn't helped my lack of time issues *g*

Date: 2019-12-23 09:30 am (UTC)The majority of photos I've seen have focussed on Gerard, and as a result, Mikey, with him standing close. Which makes sense. But I want to see more of Frank and Ray too. I'm greedy like that.

Date: 2019-12-24 07:50 pm (UTC)Why is it that even though you're SURE you've tried to do everything in good time before the holidays you STILL end up having too much stuff that needs doing the last couple of days?!!
Nothing wrong with late fic! On the contrary, it can be a very happy suprise!
That's a lovely photo of Frank but seriously Way bros? Why are you trying to grow those sorry excuses for mustaches?? They really don't suit you!!!

It's so weird, you're right, it always happens, no matter how well you think you've planned.
Well, any fic from me will be really late. But, hopefully done around New Year.
I have to agree, the moustaches are not a good look.
