Challenge #4

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Fannish.

Finish the winterhawk bodyswap already! I have 3674 words and another 1k or so would finish it but somehow I never get around to adding more. No doubt because in the back of my mind I know it won't be 1k at all.

Write a response to the popslash challenge. I've missed the deadline but I did say I wanted to write for the bandom and popslash ficathons and I've managed one half of that, so the other is doable.

In general, write more. I always enjoy doing so when I get going and I need to remind myself it's perfectly fine to write and post without a beta. I'll always do so for long fic/exchanges etc, but I can scrape by without for shorter stuff. And that includes playing away from my main fandoms.

Get a bingo, a line, anything!

Personal.

Drink more water. I drink a lot of coffee and tea and Pepsi Max but need to up my water game. I'm not saying I'm going to ban cherry Pepsi max /Pepsi Max as they're my favourites, but cut down, yeah.

Sort of tied into that. Frugal Jan has been going well so far -- well in terms of eating/drinking out. It's been easier than I expected to take my own drinks and eat before going out, so I'd like to continue that through the year. Again, not a total ban but to be more mindful of those little spends that soon add up.

Eat a bigger variety of vegetables. I like them all, well, apart from aubergine and I think that was because I didn't cook it right, but get stuck in the rut of only eating sweetcorn, tomatoes, onions, peas and mushrooms. Related, if anyone has a recipe for red cabbage please share. I have two huge red cabbages in the greenhouse and have no idea what to do with the things.

Catch up on a lot of TV. I won't say how much I've got recorded to watch, but it's a lot, and that's without downloaded stuff and Netflix/Prime.

And as earlier I downloaded the new ep of Schitt's Creek, I'm off to work on my goals right now :D

I am NOT your woman for BLOODY RED CABBAGES (nigella's recipe with cranberries is okay, as is her one with apples, but they're both a bit sweet and it's eventually off putting).

I love these goals! (not least because it bodes of MORE TURPS WORDS and that is VERY JOYOUS.

My frugal!January hasn't been consistent yet, but there is still 2/3 of the month! I have hopes I can get it together for Frugal!February too.

Speaking of which, I bought a budget journal book because I was doing it online, but it never seemed real there and I was never consistent with my goals, so offline it is. I'm hoping this inspires me to pay down debt and save for the big things.

You can do it! Writing short things can be fun, and yeah, you don't always need a beta for a slice of life.

Lots of good luck achieving all your goals!!! *waves encouraging pompoms*

Anything you can do with ordinary cabbage you can do with red. It does colour everything pink but pink coleslaw for example is much more fun than the ordinary sort :-)

Homemade coleslaw is a staple of my hot-weather cooking but it's nice at all seasons really. Though in winter I want something hot to go with it. I've never tried it with oven-roasted chicken but that's what I just got a craving for. I think some grocer shopping is indicated for tomorrow :-)
